Dsa or maelstrom first

which should I do first. I've just reached level 50 and I was wondering should I try and do and master maelstrom first and dsa?

Those are two different beasts. Maelstrom is solo, DSA is group

I would say normal versions of both.

Can be either really, if you can get a group together then why not dsa but you will definitely want to do normal versions before anything.

If your on your own then maelstrom, again do it on normal and learn the way the arena works, then pump it up to veteran and see how you go! But just be aware that you will die over and over again until you know the mechanics of it! Even then you will sometimes get it wrong

DSA is a lot of fun with a group and can get pretty intense. Still one of my favourite accomplishments was getting through this with a group of people who had no idea one stage to the next what was coming.

This is too true! Very good practice in general for pve.....but do not run in there blindly, ......it will eat you

and I guess it really comes down to whether you want to play solo or in a group.

Go in blindly, that's the fun. I jumped right into vma with no videos or guides 3 days ago. It's not that difficult to figure out, especially if you save your replay and learn.

What you have an issue with is often not what others do. I use quick cloak on my stamina characters for the speed and aoe reduction. So when i was dying in stage 3 i noticed lots of aoe doing the damage, slotted that on my magicka character and passed first shot. The best times probably aren't doing that, but finding the problem and fixing it is the challenge.
