ETA on broken movement speed, has ZOS even acknowledged it?

Here we are at 5 months roughly since this was addressed, two major patches have been released, handful of incremental patches...and yet...there's been no update.

Can someone at ZOS just be honest already and admit this was intended as a stealth nerf and its not ever going to be fixed? I mean at least own up to it already. Or get it fixed. One or the other.

There is another option - I'm in the market for a software job; I'm available for consultation on fixing this bug :P

Lol. Bruh... Trust me. No from ZOS' end is going to admit this was intended. Nor will anyone from ZOS provide for you an ETA, or official fix date. How long did you say it's been now? 5 months? And you genuinely believe they're paying this any mind? Did you know that there are still bugs/glitches still around from the beta-testing days still around current day? :disappointed:

I hope that it gets acknowledged and fixed. I genuinely do. But, do I think it'll ever be done? Lol no. :D

A while ago they said they want to fix it, but it is far far back on the list since it is fair as it happens to everyone... Which is strange because originally they said they couldnt reproduce it...

    Anywho good luck!

ZOS has more important things to do. I'm being serious though how hard could it possibly to change the movement speed of a character?

This has to be the easiest thing in the world to fix, people have been doing it client side with CE and probably still are as we type.

If they had any intention whatsoever of changing their deliberate stealth nerf to movement speed it would have been done 6 months ago when this was first pointed out. That is what is so infuriating about this, just admit what you did, and preferably explain why. Was it to make the micro zones of recent DLC look bigger?

Still haven't gotten used to it, even with rapids, riding cross-country is notably slowed, it's like being a 6foot tall man in a go-cart with the governor set too low. I feel like I'm permanently 10% snared. I use way-shrines to travel to places I used to ride to because load screens are less frustrating than hitting shift over and over thinking this can't be the top speed of a freaking tiger or because even the smallest terrain, by which I mean pebbles, cause it to drop out of "Sluggish, so called sprint" speed down to "Help! I stepped in a tar pit" speed.

ZOS went and fed my poor Senche Moon Sugar laced rats now he can barely get out of his own way.

    [snip]

If nothing else I would personally prefer they give us a boost in normal run speed and nerf Major Expedition/Gallop a little bit to compensate. Movement on my heavy armor Templar and Dk is super painful. I get a little more ragey with every slow ass step.

Yep, we are aware and it's not intended. We're still working on a fix for it, which will likely be included in the next major update.

Quote from 8 April haha. This will never be reverted, just as this thread, like every other thread about this issue, will be sunk and closed.

    that's a horrible reality.

They still left the unwarranted nerf in the game. Funny that they call it a bug though, because if it really is it shows how they really can't fix things in a timely manner.

Its most noticeable on a mount and you slow down whenever you cross a little gap or bump in the terrain. Very annoying....

I have noticed the slowing when you cross a small gap or bump in terrain. I agree on the annoying part there.

Agreed. Perfectly acceptable for ZOS, though.

Edit: Well, what I assume you mean is a AAA studio. ZOS pretty much dropped that when they went B2P with ESO. I think they have the talent, but not the drive.

This isn't just a ZOS issue. This is a widespread issue with the current MMO companies out at the moment. Worry not most of us will either find a specialized game to suit our gaming needs.

Others will go to Modifiable private server mult-player games. For the biggest examples ARK and ARMA3.Those two games, mods make them awesome competitors. I think it's time for development teams to just stop. Yes they make decent short term money, but while completely tarnishing their names.(Frontier Developments, Hello Games, and maybe RSI/CIG, and ZOS. Hard to do business when people hate your staff so much that they go through the troubles of saving their personal names. That so they will never ever touch another game these your staff make in the future.

The way I see it now. Pretty soon within the next 3 or 5 years the MMO genre will be a distance memory. One of the good times when they was actually entertaining, and fun, and also skill based no matter what play style you enjoyed.

I think the MOBA genre is going to capitalize fast on this. Smite is already developing PvE mode content for it's sPvP MOBA. I suspect many others like Dota, and LoL will follow suit. It's like what happens in a power vacuum. There is always something to take it's place.

I don't think that MMO and MMORPG games are going anywhere. Vampiric studios will continue to crank out these games, content as long as someone is dropping more coin in their cup than it costs to make the game. These vampires will be focused on short term revenue generation, using the game as the hook to catch the whales. The resulting games will be flashy but shallow. There is only so much game play that can be routed through the cash shop.

[snip] Newer studios will make games that are not shallow, and have the complexity, depth, and challenge that the other games lack. They will be able to make successful games, and serious gamers looking for serious games will play them.

We already see some potential in upcoming games, but it is too soon to tell whether they are just late arrivals to the scene, or are actually going to make a compelling game. I won't mention names, but some of them have been mentioned on the forum.

But, this thread is about one of the hallmark traits of ZOS. The general lack of communication with the players. ZOS has always been lacking in the communications department. 30 months since launch and not a whole lot has changed. At this point, the need to not talk about what they are doing is so ingrained in the ZOS culture that it will never change. I don't think that it is something that they hold important, and they probably think they are doing a terrific job.

Wow. I never even knew about this thread but I noticed the movement decrease right away and always figured it was intentional in order to make riding on terrain more realistic. I didn't find it realistic though, I found it annoying. At least now I know what happened.

This thread needs to stay on the front page until it's fixed. I don't think this was a stealth nerf and I do believe they intend to fix it but my god 5 months ago there were several green posts saying it would be fixed on DB release. Wow.
