I recommend Gold Edition. =D Although Imperial edition is nice, there really isn't anything that can contribute significantly to your progress in the game. The imperial horse can be substituted with the stable horse (or a nicer crown store mount). The crab can be substituted with one of the three in-game pets (the dwemer spider, the scamp, and the bug). The imperial race, in most contexts, is not a competitive for most classes (with the exception of tanking, but Nords can be just as good).

With the DLCs, you'll access the best farming areas, best grinding areas, quest areas that can grant skyshards and experience, and dungeons.

    Just my opinion.

Thx Pandorii, but this is are the problem...

I have Imperial Edition and I want to buy the Gold Edition, but in web store appears this error: YOU DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THIS PRODUCT.

Any option to make this works or Zenimax gave me this upgrade?

    Hugs...

But why do you want to buy the Gold Edition? If you already have a base game, just buy the Guilds and Glory DLC bundle if interested.

I did pre order the game in the imperial edition version and can not be upgraded to gold edition by the site. But @ZOS_GinaBruno will solve the problem ...

Ok, to clarify, you'll receive this error message if you already own ESO. In this case, you should head to the Crown Store (in about 30 minutes) to purchase the Guilds & Glory DLC pack. Hope this helps!

The problem with this is that the Gold edition (since purchased as a new game) would grant access to the DLC account wide. The Guilds and Glory DLC pack will be restricted by server. Opposite for the Imperial Edition upgrade. It seems there is no way to purchase both the Imperial Edition and the DLC and have it be account wide. Unless, of course, you become an ESO+ subscriber after purchasing the Imperial Edition. Too bad, so sad for those of us who do not want to subscribe.

So I went and looked at the Guts and Glory in the store and it costs 5500 crowns which costs $40, which is $10 more than just buying the Gold edition of the game.

Is there not a discount or something? I was thinking of coming back to the game and picking up the morrowind expansion, but I'm not spending $70 to do that.

Some sources say (1) that buying the Gold edition elsewhere allows you to apply its code to upgrade your existing account, and (2) that logging into freshly purchased Steam Gold Edition with your old credentials gets you all the Gold stuff. But that's really just hearsay until ZOS confirms it.
