Forum moderation ridiculous

So, I don't usually have issues with my own posts being moderated, but the amount of censorship from ZOS forum mods is a little ridiculous. Just a couple hours ago I responded to a certain thread with my own opinion. Negative as my opinion may have been, there was no cursing, no threats, no anything. It was just my opinion, and yet I came online later to find that it had been completely deleted. This wasn't even the first time this exact thing has happened to me, and I've seen the same other kind of thing happen to other people many times.

So I have a question for Zeni, is it now against the forum rules to criticize either you or the game? Because that's what it's starting to look like.

(Funnily enough, I know very well that Zeni will probably do away with this thread once they see it, which only proves my point further. I just wanted to put this out there)

Fine if they close this thread, in fact I still expect them to, I'm just saying that there are plenty of other things that either get closed or outright deleted for no good reason.

Whether a reason is good or not is inherently a matter of opinion, but there's always a reason.

If you disagree with it, your opinion is rightly your own (and you may very well be right), but violating the Community Rules to complain about enforcement of the Community Rules is unlikely to change anyone's mind.

Unless I see the actual post so I know the content of your opinion, (which won't happen cause it's gone) I'm biased to lean toward the side of skepticism. I've seen many people's "criticism" toward the game and Zenimax themselves, and a majority of the time it's nothing more than borderline hate bashing.

And yes, Zenimax has full rights to delete posts that are bashing their product or themselves.

Yeah I had half my posts in a thread complaining about the EU sever downtime deleted, because the mod seemed to think the guy I was responding to was baiting me. I suppose you could have argued he was but we were being quite amicable to each other. There was no need to delete the posts imo.

Like you said, I can't give my exact post, but it was in essence simply saying that I regret subbing after I came back from a break from the game, since I had hoped that it had gotten better by now, but it hasn't, in my opinion at least.

For an unmoderated forum there's the ESO reddit page. I don't have an account, but I typically go there to read reviews and feedback on cash shop pricing and such (stuff that might get moded for obvious reasons).

It goes both ways. You may feel that you were not insulting to someone, but if they take offense to it and report you, what a moderator to do?

Sometimes my posts just disappear . I don't complain because I'm guessing some fairy god moderator is just looking out for me and just makes it go away instead of sending a new warning . Nothing I say is so important I would get upset and demand answers . Then again I don't take forums business seriously . It's just people talking .

I dunno, I don't recall really seeing anything that negative from your posts anyway. Not anything offensive really, but you never know what they do.

Did you quote someone or a post? a lot of times posts get snipped out in the moderation process, just like post 1-8 are crap posts, except yours that is #5 or something. They just blast them all in a fell swoop instead of cherry picking the one that is good.

It's lazy I guess, but the amount of negativity here means you have to be efficient i think.

the censorship of 'bad language' and auto ***ing if words i dont get it

the game is rated 18.
the forum exists because of the game
therefore the forum should be rated 18

there is a difference between saying *** hell vMA is hard and telling someone to go *** themselves, and people over the age of 18 should be mature enough to identify the diffrence.

but this one really confused me the other day, the phrase
your point raises many queries for me
is perfectly acceptable; yet if i use the singular of queries,
your point raises a *** for me

Except I Have yet to see any other forum censor, delete post, and hand out infractions even remotely close to how often they do here.
And btw I have never had any post deleted or anything, although that might change?
Don't get me wrong some post need to be deleted but you do have to own elder scrolls to create an account and last time I checked it is an m rated game.

yes, the funniest thing is that they have problem with some minor swear words, or with reposting, but they are completely ok to not give us any update about PC EU server being down for several hours, or they have no idea about ETA about fixes for major game bugs...

You can get a comment removed if it contains a quote of another comment that gets removed, I've had that happen a fair amount and I can understand why. Sometimes they pm you to tell you, sometimes they don't. I just wish if they did that they would remove the whole conversation so remaining comments didn't seem out of context. You'd have to lack a fair amount of common sense to get an original post removed though I think.
