Update-12- Our questions need answers

Hi,

We've all been over the forum and QQ'd about all the changes in Itemization and a lot of other major changes upcoming and made assumption about things which may or may not happen. ZOS posted a official post seeking feedback about the changes they have have proposed (made). People are using their bandwidth, time, stamina or magica to log into PTS and test and report back (not that it matters anyway since everything is already mostly set in stone and will go to live as it is), so my point is How about ZOS shows us some decency and answers the questions we asked? I've been to numerous posts with people asking various questions and no official comments has ever been made on those.

So this thread is not about QQing in ourselves or about how terrible ZOS is at responding but just to post out question/ clarification needed and hope for the best they get answered.

SO i'll start with mine, and everyone else is welcome to post their own-

1. What happens to my existing BOE equipment after the next update goes live. Would they remain BOE and trade-able or would convert to BOP/ Bound automatically.
2. Previous Dungeons which had a unique Veteran mode have been converted to Version I and II; each version now has a Normal and Veteran mode.- So the item sets dropping for both version will remain same and of same level or will there be a difference in terms of CP level and quality.
3. There is no longer a Bronze, Silver and Gold key. All keys have been converted Undaunted Keys and reward a Shoulder set piece with each use. - What happens to our existing keys. Players are hoarding their keys and are excited to use them upon update goes live. WIll the existing keys open any of the 3 chests or they'd be bound to specific chests. The question is about all the three keys currently obtainable i.e. green, blue and gold (purple).
4. They also have a corresponding chest which, when an Undaunted Key is used, will offer a Shoulder set piece from one of the Dungeon Pledges they offer. I'd take it that the key acquired from a perticular quest giver can be used only with the chest associated with that quest giver or players are free to choose which chest they want to open. To be more clear if i get all the 6 possible keys in one day and i'm looking for a shoulder of Mephala which is associated with MAJ, can i use all my keys in the chest associated with MAJ?
5. Sets that grant a bonus to melee damage will now drop more intelligently (i.e. a set with melee damage will no longer drop with a bow or stave). I take it that the same is true for Magica sets as well i.e. magic sets will not drop with Bows and 2H weapons? I mean how many 2H Axe or Maul of twilight remedy we want ;)
6. All set drops have a chance to be green, blue, or purple quality. The chance of receiving blue and purple quality items increases as you gain more levels. What are those levels we are talking about? Does this means CP levels or something else? So if i'm CP capped, I should always get a purple set drop/ reward?
7. Non-Dungeon Bosses- We dramatically increased the chance for Delve bosses to drop a waist or feet set piece from the zone they are located in. Each boss also has a small chance to drop a unique set piece. What is this UNIQUE set piece?
8. Trials- Mobs and bosses in Normal mode will drop blue-quality gear. Mobs and bosses in Veteran mode will drop purple-quality gear. The last boss on Veteran Hard Mode will drop gold-quality jewelry. As of now, there are only 2-3 guilds that have completed the HM of MOL. So is this indication the end of MOL-Gold jwellery except for HM or Weekly?
9. Since most of the sets from trials i.e. Sun Silk/ red Mountain/ Necropotance etc, have been moved to the dungeons, How'd people get the gold Jwellery for those sets. Is there some other way to acquire them in future or is it the end?
10. Dark Anchors- Every zone can now spawn any of Molag Bal’s Generals. So how do i keep track of which general to find where? or I just keep doing one zone dolmen in row till i get all the generals. And does it apply for the generals from cyrodill anchors too? Would they also spawn in any zone?
11. Motifs and Recipes- Crafting Motifs which were previously only available in the Silver and Gold versions of alliance content are now available throughout the world. Am i missing something here?
12. Crafting & Harvesting- Survey Reports received from Crafting Writs may now send you to any zone throughout the world.- But the items received from the Survey maps, they will still be in line with the level of crafting or crafter's level? It was much easier for me to put all rurvey maps on one character and in one map to get them all, now I've to go through 8 loading screens because i can be sent to any zone?
13. Crafting & Harvesting- When opening a Clothing, Woodworking, or Blacksmithing Writ reward box, you now have a chance to obtain a shipment of 25 refined materials from a previous tier of materials.- Beyond my understanding. Can we reduce the amount to half and give the material of same tier?

These are very basic questions but do help players to prepare in advance for the upcoming changes. As you expect us t osupport you by providing the test reports and bugs reports and what not feedback so that you can deliver a better game and gameplay experience, same can be expected from you ZOS to help players prepare. No everyone here goes onto PTS or have time enough to go on PTS.

    That last one... 13. wth?

What bloody logic are ZoS using to give us writs to use our own materials, and then reward us with one tier below material?

That has to be intentional trolling "Here, have some materials that are useless for you"

A lot of the answers to these questions have already been given either on the PTS forums or from the Pax West Panels or indeed from the Patch Notes themselves.

For example they did say that you can use any key in any chest you want so you can try your luck getting a specific monster shoulder set with all the keys you get in one day. All of them will offer the same quality, but you will get two keys from the harder versions of the dungeons

Another example for the bosses you mention and theeir unique set piece. This refers to the sets that will be found in the various zones. Delves bosses will have a chance of dropping gear from those sets

The Dolmens will now take into account your achievements so will likely spawn a general you haven't killed before

Motifs and recipes, this refers to the Ancient Elf, Barbaric and Daedric motifs which dropped in Cadwell Silver and Gold zones. they will now drop anywhere. Not sure about recipes but I think some recipes dropped in specific zones.

The previous tier of materials is a response to people saying they won't be able to harvest lower end materials effectively. Though I hope this means a variety of previous tiers and not just one at all times. And you only get those mats if you don't get a survey reports which gives you mats of your level etc

I suggest moving this to the PTS forums as it still has some valid questions and it would be good to see answers in this forum as well for people who missed the Pax West panels or for answers in future ESO lives

i am pretty sure this is an intention vehicle to get a source of lower tier mats into the economy and specifically into the hands of master crafters who will not be able to "harvest" mats at those levels any more.

There are a lot of threads usually spawned by folks who (it seems based on their comments) harvest a lot of gold off other pcs by crafting for folks who dont have mats. Some of them dont like not being able to have their master crafters go harvest mats in zones and get specific lower tier mats on demand. For some of them it seems the only good solution is to keep the old zone-locked mats and give everyone lotsa useless mats so that the master crafters can go gather mats and resale etc. Threads often reference only having all master cfraters with all crafting skills maxed and no alts etc and being stuck with all tier 10 mats burden etc...

But this writ "if not survey then lower mats" thing seems designed to provide these craters, and others, with access to lower tier mats to possibly assuage that "burden".

i could be wrong but thats what i thought as soon as i saw it.

Now for me i think the "solution" more in keeping with OneT (and similar to what they did with enchants already) is to remove the LOWER LIMIT on material gear caps, so that rubedite can make any level gear etc.

I've got two questions to add to the devs. No hurry, but they did kinda say they would update us on these:

    1. Was the ninja nerf on lightning staff intended? It's missing from the patch notes.

    2. Will movement speed be returned back to normal? We were told months ago it would possibly be fixed this patch.

    They already answered those two

    1) This was supposed to a bug fix, the lightning stuff gives damage at the end of the pulse not during it

    2) They said they know about this but it is not a priority as it affects everyone equally and there are more pressing matters to fix first.

Probably not. Before DLC dungeons, every one gave a skill point for the first completion. You'll notice however, that on the DLC dungeons you get a skill point for first completion whether it is on normal or veteran, not both, just one. With the old dungeons being split so that the differences between normal and veteran are the same as the DLC dungeons, skill points will probably be awarded the same way: for the first completion on normal or veteran ONLY.

In other words, no additional skill points from these dungeons.

For #12, This is very disappointing; I specifically have several of my characters with crafting level set to turn in at Belkarth, so I can wander about Craglorn for the Surveys. Now I might never get to do many there at all because of RNG?

WHY DOES EVERY BLASTED THING IN THIS GAME HAVE TO BE RNG, FFS?!?! Why not make ESO plus an RNG chance of whether you actually receive the monthly benefit or not? Whether XP is given or not for quests and enemies? When you log in, maybe you'll be on a PVE server, maybe PVP, who knows?

    IT'S a MYSTERY. Ain't it awesome?

By the way, ZOS, we asked to TURN IN THE WRITS WHEREVER WE WANTED, NOT FOR SURVEYS TO BE RNG.

1.) On Sept. 4th, Gina said this:
We certainly never intend to purposely not include information in the patch notes. We'll follow up early next week and figure out what the deal here is.

She has not 'followed up' since then.

2.) On April 8th, Gina said this:
Yep, we are aware and it's not intended. We're still working on a fix for it, which will likely be included in the next major update.

The 'next major update' has come and gone. Yes, I recall when Gina said "it's not a priority fix." This was long ago. Please save me digging up the quote from months back. I'd like to think that it's not going to be a non-priority fix forever, and I think it is fair to ask for an ETA at this point, since it's been broken since at least April.
