Hi everyone! just throwing it out there as probably dozens of others have done. But I would love to see spears, halberds, crossbows and great-shields even a wand instead of a staff would be nice. If only to introduce some new skills and playstyles into the game.
Who agrees and what are your thoughts on this subject?
I used to be a dragon once, then I took an adventurer to the knee...

    Just checking in, so you are not totally alone.. Yes we have all wished for it for ages.. It's not something they are working on atm though, at least from what they are telling us

    Scythe could be added as part of a polearm skillset. Historically they were not an efficient weapon however, but spears and polearms were very very effective.

    I don't think we are at the crossbow stage yet, and certainly not small hand held versions

    The real problem with small hand crossbows is that they were historically not very effective against people wearing that thing called "armor"... and too short ranged to use them "safely from a distance" like slings or bows... good for assassins, perhaps, but not really that much use for enyone else.

    Uhm... you are not using the fighters guild skill line much, are ya? ;)
    For specialty use, hand crossbows may have their niche. I would not mind seeing more skills like that... I could imagine an undaunted skill using a hand crossbow to fire an bolt tipped with some alchemical concortions... (though R.A. Salvatore had that idea already in his cleric quintet books I fear)

    It is true that scythes look cool. It is also true they never were especially combat-effective (unless you count the war scythe, which is more like a glaive or fauchard anyhow due to the repositioned blade...). Though if they ever make polearms, the daedric style definitely ought to be scythe-ish methinks!
