If anything we should be grateful that you popped up here at all, I doubt it's your responsibility.

Now that I am back in Europe, it makes sense to inform the English speaking community, too, while Jess and Gina are still asleep. I'll make sure to keep you updated in the future.
And while the EN Community Managers still enjoy their well earned sleep, our technician are now awake and are trying to fix this.

This is a worry, it implies that Kai only found out because he's reading the forum.
And the techs only know because Kai told them (though as they haven't responded maybe they aren't aware yet...).
If they bothered to monitor the service the techs should be telling us!
All speculation. I used to run Operations for an IT company and we had monitor programs that sent my techs a SMS when a server went haywire. Their only responsibility was to get things running again PDQ, not inform the users. That went through an escalation tree and only when there was a prolonged outage Customer Service posted a message and sent an email.
For all of you who want answer like why are the servers down and give us an ETA. They can't. As long as you are investigating the problem you don't know what's wrong. Let alone you can tell how long it's going to take. I'd rather have the techs focussing 100% on bringing the servers back online than inform me every 5 minutes.
That doesn't mean that just a little insight in what went wrong wouldn't be appreciated AFTER everything has been solved.
And what you post is a fact and no speculation?
There are plenty of games and/or services that are able to inform customers within minutes after the problem occurs,
so i assume you speculate as much as everybody else.

Eh yes, what I state is my own experience and how we handled things. As I don't know how ZOS or other companies have organized their calamity response, I won't go there.

Then they should be more careful how they word things.
Can anyone access the EU servers? Are there people who have managed to log in and are happily playing the game while "some players" cannot?
It's not an issue that some players are having, it's an issue with the EU server.

you mean they actually have time to sleep? I thought half the people on here expect them to be running around like little forum maidens checking that everyone has everything they need.
Seriously, don't fret it, some people need to maybe see more daylight and get some fresh air

Um, you know when you provide a 24h service for people round the world, you have to have people working 24/7 right?
It's quite normal to have morning shifts, afternoon shifts and night shifts.
How do you think like everything in the world works? ^^

Unless you know for a fact that EVERYONE has the problem, it is what they say in the banner.. Some people might be able to log in.. Personally I got to the character screen earlier, instead of being stopped at the login

That would be true for things that NEED that.. There's no reason for a GAME to have 24/7 staff

Yes it probably is, but the banner speaks truth anyway.. Some players, you included, have trouble logging in.. No where has it been hinted, unless you really want it to be, that it's the players' fault
