I usually get to about 500k then dump it back into the economy stopping at about 80k or so, rinse and repeat.

I save and spend them on useful things like missing motif pages or jewelry or crafting mats. Made a lot of gold by selling SODH new motifs very quickly and spend them all too.

I save most of it, but not because of self-control, but rather because I like to farm my own stuff anyway so there isn't much I actually need to buy. I like to buy stuff for my guildies in need of gear, though. And I donate quite a lot to my trading guilds, for the trader.

I've managed to get up to 1m which I'm keeping in the bank as I figure IF any player housing can be bought in game with gold this might be a price point. I've also got another 300k on me which is my spending money, the main things I buy are monster set pieces (golden vendor hasn't had any I want for a while) and motif chapters (I haven't got enough chapters of any of the ones I'm working on and/or the prices haven't dropped to a price I'd buy them at for me to be buying chapters to complete motifs at the minute - apart from akaviri, I'd quite happily pay up to 300-350k for the 2.5m AP worth of chapters I need)

I buy only what I need, when it's needed. Since there isn't much I need, my gold is mostly saved. Currently closing in on my first million banked/saved. Been in the game 2 1/2 years and have found it much easier to make gold now than ever before.

Most of the things I actually want are bind on pickup, and my playing time is limited, so my gold is saved more by default than by design. Really not much to spend it on.

This is what I do as well. I save up to about 500k then go on a spree for better equipment.

Both. I try to save before every patch. Then I spend it on the new motifs, even if the prices are still a little high. I think I spent 2.5 mil for the SotH motifs, but because I was spending a lot, I also spent a lot of time farming to make money back. I'm almost back to what I had before SotH (3m). Looking forward to dumping it on the new (useless) motifs coming next patch.

What gold?

My characters usually have between a few hundred and a few thousand gold depending on their level, but I play no part in the dysfunctional trading system and since the advent of the crafting bag there hasn't really been a need for buying any more inventory or bank slots, so this is pretty much the only MMO I've played since 1998 where the accumulation or spending of gold hasn't interested me or been of any remote significance to me.

I spend on planned and thought out items. I try to find deals and have enough in reserves (at least 30k to 40k) to pickup the occational person wanting to sell Dreugh Wax for 4500 each for quick cash.

I really enjoy being able to find good deals and flip items for profit so usually try to keep around 1mil. With the huge market fluctuations right now I am playing it a little safe and approaching the 2mil mark if I am not already there. With one Tamriel I feel like the market will have a huge shift across the board.

Plus I almost always farm items that I use for myself and I am a hoarder for anything I loot.

I usually save a bit, and then spend it all. I currently have more gold on hand than I ever have before (over 1mil), and had planned on continuing to save it. Today, I thought hey, I could start getting all of the motifs I am missing.....so I might spend it all again tonight lol.

if there is something i want i will save up for it while trying to get it myself

ie when i wanted phsyjic i did my provisioning writ everyday on 6 characters trying to get it.... after many many months (about 5) i had received 4 unique fragments & many, many, many, many duplicates
i traded with a fellow crafter for 2 fragments & purchased the last one, and then made a fortune selling all the spares which i properly spent on additional inventory space from the back pack merchant! LOL

I am saving gold (2.6M now) for ??

may be justselling stuff to tradersvfor getitng back space. I am 656 CP, done most of contents. Sometime doing trials or PVP, do not know what to do with loot so just sell it..

There is nothing great to buy with gold in this game..

I don't make a conscious effort to save gold, I just don't spend much. In truth, I haven't got a clue what i'm supposed to do with it. Blame my lower level naivety. And my desire to find things in-game, rather than buy everything I need, or think I might need.

It's probably a huge mistake to compare ESO to the single player games given the completely different economy structure, but I often played those with self-imposed restrictions to limit what I could and could not do (e.g. no taking gold from corpses, only using gold from making and selling things, and so on). This meant selling a bunch of potions for 100 or so gold seemed to matter much more. I've tried to do similar things in this game, but no matter how hard I try to play the peasant-type character, I end up being relatively wealthy.

I'm currently saving all my gold since I already have everything I "need". I'll be saving all my gold, and legendary mats, to be ready for the day the gear cap goes up again. I only have just over 2 million but it's hard to make gold when I mostly pvp.

Yes. I save or spend my gold.

Most of the time I'm sitting on 500K - 1 million give or take. I don't spend gold very often, but when I do I'm likely to go through at least a couple hundred thousand in a go, because I'm usually doing something like buying up all of the pages of a motif that I'm missing and can't be bothered to farm. Or I'm looking to buy some specific gear (although most of the time I can't really justify spending a lot of gold on gear).

I save it up until I have enough for the next thing I want to buy, then I spend it and start over.

I don't see the point of constantly saving up, or making sure I always have some amount in reserve. It's not like real life where you've got regular bills and need money for emergencies. Plus I have to deal with all that in real life, so in games I like having the freedom to just spend my money.

I tend to save it up but do spend it to finish researching my traits and such. I try to space out purchases and budget a bit each day for motifs and such. I do have an enormous amount of materials all saved up so if I sold it all, would have much more money.

I also tend to be frugal in real life so my real life habits tend to come out in game as well.
