Rats of Torbruk (RoT) is an oceaniac timezone, Australian based PvP guild in The Elder Scrolls Online, homed on Trueflame NA and have our own Discord server for Voice Comms.

We are small, experienced, team based PvP guild that is looking to grow our regular core group - currently at 3 members. Although we are small, we have enjoyed great success in out-numbered fights, usually against twice our numbers. As 3 we have achieved great things however it is time to take our play to the next level. Ideally we'd like to grow that out to 8-16 core members that play nightly in our timezone to assist our faction. I'd also like to point out that we are a map-play focused guild - we like AP as much as the next PvPer but we would rather make an impact on the campaign and the AvAvA then climb leaderboards.

Our guild also recognises the importance of gear and builds and the requirement that we PvE to earn a lot of that gear so we also run pledges most days and would like to tackle some of the end-game PvE content to improve our builds in Cyrodiil.

So who are we? From wikipedia:

"The Rats of Tobruk was the name given to the soldiers of the garrison who held the Libyan port of Tobruk against the Afrika Corps, during the Siege of Tobruk in World War II. The siege started on 10 April 1941 and was finally relieved at the end of November.

In what proved to be a propaganda mis-step, Lord Haw-Haw derisively referred to the Garrison as "poor desert rats of Tobruk" during radio broadcasts. This was probably mostly due to two factors:

The Australians tended to counterattack to gather equipment as soon as the enemy was routed.
The defenders dug extensive tunnel networks and shelters to supplement their trenches — and were not afraid to use them when bombarded.

The Australians gave themselves the nickname 'the Rats of Tobruk' after Radio Berlin described the Australians as 'caught like rats in a trap'.

At this time, Rommel's Afrika Korps had never been defeated. During the first phase of the offensive, the Rats were mostly concerned with constructing and reinforcing their defenses and observing the enemy. After a few months, however, purely defensive operations gave way to patrols. These forays outside friendly lines were broken into two categories: reconnaissance and fighting.

Apart from providing information on the enemy, sometimes these reconnaissance patrols entailed the capture and/or field interrogation of an enemy. Later, almost exclusively at night, a fighting patrol would act on viable targets found, operating under the simplest of guidelines: do as much damage as you can, without getting caught.

Commonly, an attack would involve crawling several miles, surrounding the enemy position, followed by a concerted rush with bayonets. In most cases, the action was over in a minute or two, more often than not without a shot fired. Probably, the most well-known single offensive action by the Rats was a fighting patrol led by Lieutenant William Horace Noyes, which stalked and destroyed three German light tanks, and killed or wounded the crews of 7 machine-gun and 11 anti-tank gun positions and their protective infantry. In addition, they damaged a German heavy tank, killed and wounded 130 in the process of taking a German garrison, most in the initial bayonet charge. The Rats did not suffer any casualties."

This really sums up our guild.

We aim to be a small, tight-knit community that seeks to improve ourselves and enjoy overcoming overwhelming and outnumbered odds through use of tactics, mobility and teamwork.

What can RoT offer you?

A friendly relaxed PvP progression guild looking to grow a community of like-minded players looking to continually improve our builds, playstyle and tactics. You do not have to be the best PvP player or the best geared - these are things we can work on and grow together. We PvP every night we can and PvE to be better at PvP.

If you made it this far and your STILL interested we'd love you to have a run with us to see how you fit with RoT and how we fit with you. Message myself here or ingame @jac0me and I'll get you added up ASAP.

Hi. Saw you guys in IC last night, and wondered who you were :) But anyways, welcome welcome to DC Oceanic. We are always the least populated during that timezone and could use the help.

Thanks maxjapank, yeah we lurk in there a lot when we can't cope with the numbers up top :D

Although we are a "new" guild, we have been struggling outnumbered in our Timezone for a long time now. Hoping that opening up our guild a little we may be able to help make more of an impact in our Timezone. We recognise that there are a lot of small groups of 2-4 that run our time so hoping to help band DC together a little to make DC oceanic timezone great again!

We really only have 2 guilds running in Oceanic. The Kelly Gang (TKG) and Wormhole. TKG is the guild I belong to. And though we will help defend our home keeps and try to stop Emp pushes from red and yellow, we are really just looking to find fun, outnumbered fights. Wormhole is a mostly Japanese guild. They have good numbers on their raid nights, are sneaky to boot, and when they smash in, it's a sight to see.

However, there are lots of small groups and individuals in zone. And I'm sure you'll be able to pick up quite a few for your guild. And believe me, it's really exciting to see a new organized guild join the forces. Yellow is in for a shock!

Yeah that's what we've been observing so trying to step up a bit from our usual for the faction :D

Last night was tough with the EP emp success but managed to get 16 together, just difficult to get people into voice comms and it really makes such as difference :/

I will throw out there that we'd love to co-ordinate with other guilds running as well. We try and make Wed and Thurs nights our guild raid nights but we're always out there so don't be scared to call out in zone. With only a few organised guilds running I think it's even more important for us to co-ordinate as a faction.

Had a lot of fun last night running guild group of 8. Wednesday and Thursday nights are our guild raid nights and always a blast! Had a couple of honored guests join us and one even joined our guild!

Focused on a little bit of movement/open field play and our faithful group followed me (the fill in crown) and wound up with a lot more kills than deaths despite chasing squirrels a couple of times! Our fearless crown Malkuria had to work night shift but will return tonight to lead us to victory once again!

Still welcoming new recruits so don't hesitate to message me here or @jac0me in game for an invite!

    Peace!

Really enjoying the co-operation between oceanic DC guilds at the moment, our timezone and faction is enjoying the benefits of zone, guilds and players working together for the campaign. It's so good to see a non-toxic zone chat!

Looking to continue to develop and grow our core group, so if your looking for a PvP guild that plays nightly from 7:30pm AEST, your a team player and enjoying co-operating with the faction for success, hit me up here or in game @jac0me for an invite (the 0 is a zero :) )

We don't mind if your new to PvP or a lower rank, part of being in a PvP guild is having a home to learn and develop your character, skill and builds so don't be shy!

We had maintenance last night during our play time but tonight we'll be back, so looking forward to seeing you all out there on the battlefield!
