Our lovely Count Verandis was able to do it.Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

It's none of these. He feeds regularly, but that's an illusion. He looks like a regular stage 1 vampire without it, even right after feeding:
Still handsome, though.
He is able to keep his nature hidden at will. There is no reason for players to be unable to do the same.

✭I use disguises to hide it all the time, a toggle for it would be lovely and/or a set appearance stage function. Maybe even one to allow me to retain even a hint of the colour my Redguard used to be before vampirism turned him white/purple? Pretty please?

Some of us actually like the ugly,badass. Not everyone is competing in a beauty contest. Nevertheless, I support the idea of hiding the skin and I believe its something Zos is actually considering.
