Yes I am very excited about One Tamerial and dueling
Overall the fact that they actually created a massive update is really nice ! I don't know what it will look like and if it will actually appeal to older player which have started to lack the feeling of progression but it does seems appealing.

No I am not excited for any of it.
One Tamriel is going to cause so many bugs to an already buggy game and patch problems (see the last 4 patches), Zeni does not have the technical ability to create a patch / update or create DLC at the moment.

Still incredibly nervous about how I'm going to get lower level mats to craft training gear for newbies...

But screw it, life's too short, might as well hype myself up.

Now, my friends of other factions are quitting because of the boxes, so it doesn't matter anymore.

We can all find a new MMO

Why would you quit for the boxes? Not even knowing how exactly they'll work, what will be and won't be locked behind them.

    No, they are purely cosmetic.

I can't understad why people are hating on eso because of it. Really.

Well to be honest I did not get it until I met a guild member who really only plays to collect things and goes for titles etc... cosmetics for some players is why they play the game, some of the role play people are REALLY into the game and if some cosmetic gear that is behind a random box it is clearly a money grab to hurt players like them... If they need to spend say $200 to get all the gear in the boxes they will do that. It will really hurt gambling players, and they the items will be trade-able, a lot of people freaked out.

Its like them putting the best PvP gear behind a random box that costs money to a RP player... When the last update came out someone paid 500k for a new motif from me just to be the first to get the title... I think that is crazy as well.

I'm still waiting for my briarheart cp160 ring to complete my set and have been doing the dailies with 6 chars since launch, people can understand that either...

^ This. ^ I'm still enjoying the game and don't need to gamble. I absolutely HATE that Zeni are taking that route, but they won't affect me.

Clearly you never played SWtOR, or you would know that it very well can affect every player, regardless of whether they buy the boxes or not. What happens is that eventually all the best stuff gets put into the gambling boxes, while in-game and direct purchase stuff just gets crap. So far, ZOS is claiming that these are "purely cosmetic", but that may change, and some of us will be keeping a close eye on that to guide our decisions (they are already edging a bit over the line, as "potions, upgrades, XP scrolls, etc." are hardly "purely cosmetic").

Bottom line, if you think that real-money RNG boxes won't affect your gameplay just because you don't buy any, think again.

Yes in general I am excited, although I am a little concerned that dueling may cause lag in PvE areas - I wish they'd actually done it instanced/arena style instead of in with everything else.

    Nope.

I can't *stand* the way the DLC zones handle gathering (they basically force you to invest in crafting skills just so you can gather level-appropriate material without having more than 50% of it be level 1 drek).

I also like being able to outlevel the zones I'm currently leveling in so that I can speed up the process, because despite what several loud-mouthed sycophants on message forums say, leveling is a boring chore. And even if you enjoy questing, as I do, it gets old really quickly. To the point where you just zoom past the dialogue so you can move on and get it over and done with.

Dueling is also the single most stupid thing you can add to a game like this. If you want to PVP, then go PVP. Dueling is for ***.

Considering that two out of those three are things that are going to affect each and every player, then yeah... definitely "No, I am not excited for it at all."

Very excited about One Tamriel because it's going to make so many guild events so much better. I don't care in the slightest about dueling, but I know a ton of people have been asking for it, so if it makes people happy it's a good thing to add. I'm just not interested in it myself.

Aside from the lootboxes, I think this update sounds incredible! I'm so excited for the One Tamriel. At first, I was bummed out b/c I kept hearing "levels won't matter." To me, my favorite thing to do in a MMO is to level. I love that since it's progression and reward, as well as climbing up that level ladder to the skills of my build. That reward in seeing how much easier it is to kill things than it was 10 levels ago is such a thrill to me.

However, I realized MMO changed what levels used to mean to the classic RPG. Levels were strictly what allowed you to kill the boss or not. The STORY was what progressed you through the game. MMOs put progression solely on levels. Now, we get to take it back to the oldschool RPG days. The story will dictate where you go (if you want to follow it that way) and levels just hold you back regarding those boss fights.

I'm really excited about this :)

Dueling is pretty neat. I loved the option of doing this back in WoW. I don't know how much dueling I'll be doing considering I don't play much DPS and my Healer hits as hard as a wet noodle, but it'll be fun to be able to be able to have that option.

All I am hoping for is that they disable dueling when you group up with group finder. The last thing I need when running a PUG through vet dungeons is for the dps to have some e-peen battle and decide they need to duel instead of go through the dungeon.

I voted nope because I can't get interested in ESO because of all the crashes and canceled my ESO+. So I don't know what is going on. I had a itch for ESO but the crashes to desktop for over 2 days left a sour taste in my mouth. So if that is not fixed I can't get excited for anything Zenimax does.

    Also what is this dueling?

I have two problems with your post:

    1. Since when do race and gender not exist in real life? Like it or not, you are born one way, and that's how you are.

    2. It's spelled TAMRIEL!

Race and gender are social constructs. Concerning "races", we do have ethnic groups or ethnicities. But no, there is not biologic races in human kind. Phenotypical traits doesn't define "races".

Gender is also social construct and you can actually dress yourself and behavior like the opposite gender anytime you want, a lot of democractic countries also allows you officially change it btw. There is also many culture that recognizes more than 2 genders.

You do born with allosomes and indeed stay with them for the rest of your life. But gender and the features of your ethnic groups are social constructs and you learn them.

The gender you are born with is the gender you die with. You can modify yourself to appear like another gender however if you were born male and modified to female you will never be able to carry a child inside of you, that is not a social construct that is a fact.

There you go, if all gender was is a "social construct", and that therefore we were all "equal" then wouldn't it also make sense for everyone to be able to reproduce with anyone? But that isn't the case, we are born in two clearly defined ways. The idea that gender does not exist is a social construct.

Oh dear, I don't wish to get too far into this, but I urge you to do some light reading on this. I don't think you know what gender actually means. But to give you a few quick notes here, I think you are trying to talk about "sex". But even going far into this matter causes issues, as we are assigned our "sex" at birth. Most of us don't even know our chromosomes nor do we ever find out and hormonal levels change and can be manipulated. I mean really just take a look at what's going on with Caster Semenya. And to further poke holes in what you said, some men are sterile, so...they don't get to call themselves male?

Anyway, gender = gender identity = what you in your mind personally identify and interpret yourself to be.

Nope never mind I wanna be male again, any ladies interested?

Nah never mind males are boring, I am now female again.

Oh look I'm a male now.

And yet..... Nothing changed whatsoever throughout all that. It doesn't matter how much I say I'm a female, I will always be a male. I was born that way, I have male parts, I think like a male, I kept the same number/kind of chromosomes, etc.

Gender != "sex". If you in your mind interpret your feelings/emotions, thoughts, hormones to be female and wish to identify that way, good for you. Does that change what your body looks like? Of course not, that is not at all what I am saying. Can you change what your body looks like? Yes, of course.

I am not here to argue the meaning of "sex". That is far too complicated and complex an argument for a video game forum. But again, I urge you guys to do some light reading on the meanings of different terminology. Otherwise you leave yourselves open to coming off quite intolerant and ignorant.
