Market board option.

This Is why I like this game. I can make a lot of money without having to use the trading system. I prefer the guild trader system. As a buyer I can find lower prices from some guild traders while avoiding the high prices of others. Do not have to worry about huge prices from things across the board like some games. It would just mean that I actually have to play the trading game in order to buy the things that I want and that is not my forte hence why I do not sell things anymore. Prefer making from adventuring, dailies, stealing, and killing. You know the underground way of making money ;) .Fits my character.

On the one hand it sounds like a good idea to someone like me selling TBS, Kagernac, Julianos and Hunding's sets. My guild gets the listing fee cut and a percentage of the sale along with my mandatory 5k a week or you're booted out fee (it's been more like 50k a week lately), on the other hand I'm not sure if I could maintain the prices I charge on an open mass market system and in that sort of trading system it turns into a pyramid system where it is a race to the bottom for the masses - where they will stay - while the rich sit on top dictating prices and mopping up all items that undercut them.

If you have no idea what a Market Board is, and how they work.. i.e. AmberLaTerra, then please look into modern day MMOs, and see how they work. Because from a lot of these posts, you guys have no clue what it is, or how they work.

A market Board would put all the items being sold, in one place, for all to see. So, for an example: Dark Brotherhood Motifs are being sold at some stores for 100k+, but.. if all those same motifs were in one location, so you had, lets say.. 30ish Dark Brotherhood Boots Motifs being sold, it show them all, and who is selling them. This would make peeps want to undercut the highest price motif, in an effort to sell theirs 1st. When undercutting starts, it continues. This would get the Motifs(as just one example) to finally see a "normal" price point, instead of the 50-100k+ price point right now. That's how a healthy, normal, economy in an MMO works.

Guild Stores only allow peeps to continue to sell at crazy high prices, because their guild is more well known, so they'll get more attention from buyers. Why would you want rich peeps to continue to freely sell at crazy prices in the current economy, and not want a Market Board, where prices will actually reach more reasonable ranges?

Market Boards have search engines as well, so you can type in what motif(or any item) you actually need, and what do you know? The search will actually show you the exact item you want, and all the prices from the peeps selling it. makes PERFECT SENSE to me!

Yes and said person with millions of gold buys up all 30ish dark brotherhood motif books and promptly re-lists them for 10 times as much. The rich get richer, the poor can afford nothing. That is what your market board would do the the economy.

It is naive to believe that having everything listed in one place would not lead to the ultra rich player manipulating the prices on things just like it HAS IN EVERY OTHER GAME.

I have done it myself in other games buying up the supply in the mass global market board to drive up the price and then selling for profit.
And then the person who listed all 30 dark brotherhood motifs at a higher price cannot list ANY of the kuta or anything else bought up.

You fail to see how such a person will never manage to achieve the power you expect, due to such limitations.

with an auction house there is no limitation on manipulation. if they can only sell 30 items, that doesnt stop them from buying everything up. they may not be able to sell it as quickly, but that further hurts the consumer. auction houses suck. the trader system works fine as it is, with the exception of a few tweaks to help searches. other than that it is just the same 8 people complaining and zos has already said they are not changing it.

Guess I'll say it again. We don't need this or anything that isn't already in the game. We need a better trader UI.

#1 priority should be a save search function.

#2 type to search function. Being able to search for specific things would be nice.

#3 the Master Merchant add-on that PC has, or something similar.

I think they need to work on the bidding process as well. I'm not familiar enough with the process to make suggestions myself but I've heard a lot of complaints.

Edit: Though I prefer the current system to an auction house. STOP saying it's fine as is, because it's not.

And the argument starts again:) lmfao but yes im for a market board allowing everyone to sell how and when they want .. can find some good deals with traders now and then... but selling is a pain in the arse joined a guild with a trader they lost it the next week stuck spamming WTS messages in chat coupled with ppl looking for daily dungeon runs YAY great fun!! i would prefer to stick my item on a market board and go do other things not spend hours trying to sell in chat!!

Yeppers! Spamming WTS all day long to try to make money.. takes away from actually playing the game.. and its kinda annoying to have to pay a guild 5k+ a week just to have a better chance at selling your goods!

Market Boards are a MUST is modern day MMOs. And before the "Lore" peeps coming out to play, this is an MMORPG, not an RPG like the other Elder Scrolls. Market Boards are needed for a healthy economy.

You should consider yourself lucky with only 5K, I have to pay 15K. :p But my other Trade Guilds don't have a minimum requirement, yet I can rely on the 15K guild to sell everything I offer very quickly. So it depends... do you want gold NOW, or wait a few days?

Also, you say, "this is an MMORPG, not an RPG like the other Elder Scrolls"... what do you think the RPG stands for in MMORPG?!? The Elder Scrolls series is all about LORE... and ESO is part of the ES universe... heck, they won't even give us the option to dye weapons because of the fear of ruining RPG players 'immersion'.

It also blows me away how people want everything handed to them, ZOS wants players to spend time in game, this INCLUDES those 'waste of time' things like actually "shopping around" for an item.

Makes me wonder how many people wanting an AH are younger than 30? Because they apparently can't remember what it was like BEFORE the internet, when you actually had to drive from shop to shop in order to find something, you couldn't just pop on the internet and see who is having what sale or order it from Amazon. Sorry, but ancient Tamriel did not have the internet, so having to go from trader to trader is more realistic and immersive to the reality of the ancient times.
