Enchanting Preview Broken?

So I finally got some legendary enchants and was about to put them on a piece of gear. The enchant said something like adds 900 max magicka (not the exact number because i don't remember it but this is just for illustration purposes). Then I go to enchant some boots which I know have lower enchants than big pieces, but the preview before you click enchant still said 900 max magicka... i thought to myself, this is toooooo good to be true. So I clicked enchant and I got a much lower number. (as to be expected)... but WHY can't it show in the preview what it will actually be?
Am i missing something?

✭✭✭✭✭Which preview were you looking at? If I recall correctly... mousing over the enchant will show the tooptop (900) value. Mousing over original boot (left) will show original boot, and mousing over the right boot (and only the right boot!) will show the actual value. Yup you're right. The bottom right icon shows the correct value. Don't know how I missed it....silly me!1
