Xbox and PC would be the 2 brothers who argue all day of who is better and who could pick up the mkst chicks at the mall. Playstation would be the the quiet little sister nobody acknowledges who sits in the corner and only speaks when spoken too but everyone still loves her. One big happy family.

I think its more as if the PC has a superiority complex over its younger brother Xbox even though they combine efforts with shared apps, the PC is still arrogant mainly because of users terming it the master race. But the truth is that though the PC is never satisfied and always needs to upgrade, update, etc, the Xbox is content with what it has. The Xbox ignores the 'master race' claim and tries not to think about it too much, still caring about big brother even though the term's original origin is racist.

Sitting in the back room doodling and enthralled with coloring books is the PS4. Having difficulty with change and expanding ones storage capacity, it knows its life is proprietary and has to follow a distinct set of values without wavering or ever thinking outside the box.

Holidays are nothing to speak of as one of them brags and boasts all day, another ignores him, and the third is lost in their own world.

I'd see the Xbox as the Younger child that always gets the short end of the stick in life, struggling with always trying to desperately win over affection and love because everyone keeps putting it down for doing the same annoying things over and over again, while big brother PC continues to steal all the attention for being more adaptable and impressive which only serves to cover up just how much of a financial burden he can be.

Playstation. I dunno. Playstation always seemed like the odd sibling that never really desired attention, but more so just expected to get it while also having the self esteem needed to bring itself up to the plate on it's own.

If they were a family, maybe the purchases I make on PC-US would carry over to PC-EU as well. Its fairly annoying though that they don't since they share the same Crown Market Server and Account server, particularly when they choose to sell some things (like the upcoming version of ESO) which will include the 4 big DLC's in one place.

It does on the XBone because of the stupid way Microsoft made the original version.

Also seems that those that own an XBone are the most critical of the PS4 despite the numerous issues there have been for Microsoft's system.

I personally aren't critical of the Playstation, I've just always owned an Xbox starting with that fateful Christmas day when I got the original console along with Halo:CE. Been a fan of the Green 'X' ever since.

See, I agree with the PC (never content, always looking to upgrade....always wants the new shiny) and Xbone (never quite living up to expectations, getting the shaft etc.) analogies, but I'd say that the PS4 is the one that just gets *** done.

As funny as this thread is, people are not all the same just for playing on the same platform. We've all got our fair share of elitist scumbags and nice people and angry people and quiet people and so on. Admittedly the Consoles have an extra large helping of kids, and kids being kids it's often a less mature environment than PC, but adults can be every bit as childish as actual children when they feel like it (sometimes moreso) so ultimately the platforms are not as different as some people make them out to be.

Ps4 is the one who managed to balance a social life with gaming.

Has a great physique and gf/bf, drives a nice car, has enjoyable weekends out and about then comes home to a 50inch hd screen with no bugs and cheaters to enjoy their time on eso.

PC is just about the complete opposite.

Actually if the gaming platforms were a family it would actually be like this...

PC would be the Parent who runs the family (without PC the others wouldn't exist) where as the Xbox and the PlayStation would be the twin children and the Wii-Whatever would be the other child who gets no attention (Does that thing still exist?)

The Mac would be the next-door neighbour and the Steam Box would be the Xbox and Playstation's cousin.

This was a great write-up until you randomly trash talked PS4

PS4 is known to have slightly better performance and is ever-so slightly stronger than the Xbox One.

Still they are basically the same thing. No one cares. You play on "console". Coulda left it at that, but you just had to try to make Xbox out as if it was superior to PS4.... then judge PC about having a Superiority Complex.... *sigh

PC would be the cocky eldest sibling, and the cheapest.
Xbox would be the middle sibling, more inept than the others due to being prone to "crippling issues".
PS4 would be the youngest sibling due to normally being the last to get anything, yet the healthiest.

PC: Eldest, paved the way for the younger siblings, initially expensive but is now relatively cheap. Will take things that its younger siblings do and expand and improve on them. (ie. Motion control, specifically through VR.)
PS4: Middle child, incredibly popular in certain circles and generally viewed as the "better" of the younger siblings but lacks ambition to try new things.
XB1: Youngest child, not as popular as its older siblings and has a few crippling issues it can't shake off. Often tries new things but doesn't always succeed in doing so. (ie. Kinect)

I meant release order for the consoles themselves and not the ESO patches. The only reason ESO patches were delayed on PS4 was because of when the PS Store is updated. I think they have made a deal with some devs to now push updates at the same time as the XB1.

Yes I know what you meant lol and you may be right on the concept that PS4 "activities" didn't mesh with the release dates as it WAS quarterly on cue and now it isn't.

Pretty much nailed it.

Adding an external HD to Xbox one literally takes less than a minute and doesn't void the warranty. Perhaps you could link the info where you have read that. Microsoft has help pages on how to do it, although none are really needed.

I thought I remembered Steam was developing an actual gaming PC that would be like a console (as it were). Did I imagine reading about that a couple years ago? Can anyone verify I'm not just making this up in my head?
