C'mon ZOS, let me dye my sword!

Love my Ancient Elf greatsword, partly 'cos it's the most 'normal' looking big sword to me i.e not a huge tree trunk on my back like other styles.

But IT'S GREEN, like the colour of sick.

Why can't I make it steel/silver or even gold? I'n no RPer but it will help my immersion.

It surely can't be a massive thing on the developers end, so why can't we dye or pride and glorys?

Also, can we name them...Ok I'll leave it there :D

I can't see these ugly red V16 staves anymore :D pls let us dye them already.
Voidstone color was okish, was not so obvious. But rubedite is just nasty.
    Auri-El is my lord,
    Trinimac is my shield,
    Magnus is my mind.

EDIT: the following is not an actual quote from any Patch Note, ZOS Employee, Developer, or the like. It is a parody announcement meant to cause eye-rolling/mild alarm to get the conversation started about what players would consider acceptable regarding the implementation of weapon dyes, IF they were to ever get implemented.

"We've been browsing the forums looking for player feedback on how to really make this game special and are finally proud to announce that we have added the ability to dye weapons into the game! The last time we added the ability to dye previously-undyeable items, players expressed their concern that only ESO+ members were able to do so freely. We've listened to that feedback and have decided to only offer new weapon dye stamps in the Crown Store on a similar rotating schedule as our standard dye stamps. But that's not all! We've also added new unique dye stamps to the Crown Crates! You will be able to purchase Crown Crates, as well as a chance for these unique and discontinued weapon dye stamps, for 400 Crowns beginning with update 17. We can't wait to see your screenshots showing off your new, unique weapon sets!"

Wait, so only stamps? Will we not be able to dye weapons normally? This is amazing news, btw!

If this is real, it will be the same as with costumes. You can use all the dyes you have and extra ones from the crown store.

Troll natch potes and the like are a standard thing here. Just need to laugh at it and know that it's only done because of what ZOS has done previously.

Sorry that was meant to be ironic. Having weapon dyes be Crown Store exclusive, having them only be dye stamps instead of fully-unlockable dyes, and having exclusive versions of them appear as drops in Crown Crates, are all things that should invoke a negative response, not a positive one. My apologies for the confusion, I'll edit it so that others don't get misled.

    The game really NEEDs this!!!

It seems like such a simple thing... In a couple ESO Live's back, this came up and one of the Lead's there said it had been discussed and there had been many heated debates about it. Seriously, I don't get what is to debate.

We're all sick of bright ruby red weapons. Even if you just made everything silver, that would be an improvement.

Good thing Paul Sage is gone then. We can hope to see these outlandish colours one day. The one time I logged into the EU server I was greeted by a fat orc wearing light armour that was dyed pink and green. It was awesome
