What is considered as "weapon attacks"?

Can someone please answer me this question. There are several sets that have a 5th bonus "% change to proc on weapon attacks". So what is this exactly?

For sure I know that this is not limited only to light and heavy attacks.

Does this proc only on stamina based skills, or only on the Weapons tree (twohanded,bow,stafs) based skills?

I am asking this as I was not able to get it to proc with any of my DK skills.

For example: 2h = Wrecking Blow. Bow = Lethal Arrow. Weapon attacks.

Pretty much that as far as I've known. Unless I've always been wrong lol

I've only seen those set bonuses proc on light or heavy attacks. However, I have not done extensive testing...only on a Templar.

So I tested, it procs on all damaging skills from the weapons tree + heavy and light attacks. Also such sets proc on damage over time weapon abilities which are as follows:

2H: Cleave (mele multiple target)
Dual wield: Twin Slashes (mele single target)
Destruction staff: Destructive Touch (ranged single target), Wall of Elements (AOE)
Bow: Poison Arrow (ranged single target), Volley (AOE)

So those sets seem to favor the most mages and bow users.

Weapon skills, light, and heavy attacks. We define weapon skills as those listed in the weapon lines only. So, no class skills, no alliance war or guild skills, racial, etc. Only weapon skills, light, and heavy attacks.

We were talking about sets that proc on weapon attacks, not what is weapon damage. Because as stated above:

Proc on weapon attacks means: light and heavy attacks, and all skills from the weapons tree (it doesn't matter if they are stamina or magica based).
