After reading the many posts as to how the base game will change w/ the adoption of this new rule set. I just ask the developers let the players have some input. Let us vote!
I'm worried that the 'test server' will find very few of the problems that will be encountered after it goes 'live', And if history is a measure, then once it's a law, then is hard as hell to fix.
This is a change that really needs to be thought thru.

Does it matter? By the time they announced it, I imagine it was far to late to change it. Of course that also makes this whole thread pointless.

Yup, I've been waiting under my rock, looking out to see if it's ever safe to come back. And some forum posts are just flat out hilarious.

Mm.. Perhaps, I have been considering coming back here and there recently, but all these posts about terrible lag and infinite loading screens randomly popping up, even outside Cyrodiil, have deterred me from re-joining, as well as some real life things and whatnot.

True, all we have is what the programmers say they want to do, and let us hope it don't happen. Or just give us a chance to say our peace.

Tea bagging a few players will make up for the frustration from load screens.

'terrible lag and infinite loading screens' I've not seen that. and my system isn't that great or new. until ppl post their stats on cpu/OS/internet_provider. it will be hard to narrow down.

A friend got a UBER I7 machine and super GPU that required a refrigeration unit to keep cool, but got the lag bandit on his ass. Can't blame ZoS for that. has to be something w/ his set-up.

the disconnects & infinate load screens are (as far as i can work out) a bigger problem for console players than they are for pc/mac players, so while internet providers/upload speed etc are certainly contributing factors, there is little can be done about the hardware, as i believe even the newer model consoles are experiencing the same issues

Can't say for Console players, but on PC there seems to be a memory leak. You can play for 1-2 hours then ya get 'stutter/stops'. gets worse the longer ya play. log-out/log-in, it goes away.... for 1-2 hours.
This have any effect on console?

    @Altaire

the issues seem more connected with quest log & inventry in my experience; logging in & out can help but not as much as dumping quests & keeping inventry to a bare minimum, (under 30 seems to be most effective). and of course avoiding high traffic areas!

the term memory leak was mentioned regarding console but only when related to quests.

This change is important and imho there is nothing to worry about or complain. Personally I'm waiting for One Tamriel in hope this will rebalance this actual world, which already started to bore me a bit.

The main reason I gave up on subscribing and playing SWTOR was that they had no vision and their changes were just cosmetics, when base game remains the same for years.

ZOS plans something big, just like it was big when they decided to change veteran to CP. I admire their tenacity in creating constantly new content and rebalancing game for our pleasure with ESO. Especially that they do not forget about non-subscribers too...

Guess we will have to wait and see how the developers changes affect ESO. guess /quit is a option too, but will hang in there and see what happens.
I love this game, but if the developers 'FUBAR" it to death...... then?

Just look at the thread relating to the poll on lottery boxes, the overwhelming MAJORITY are against it, but ZOS isn't listening, they're pushing ahead with it anyway. They've already invested hundreds of thousands into One Tamriel, they aren't going to change course... especially since it's mainly gear towards attracting NEW players, so current and veteran players don't matter anyway.

I am old school guy also, and I am with you, but this is not the old school times any longer I am afraid, gone are the the times a company wants to put out a quality product or service, we are in the times of fast money and mediocrity, the fastest way to make money with the least amount of time and investment, it seems to be a trend in almost everything we buy these days. I have no problem with a for profit company making profit but they need a product worth my time as well.

Other games do seem to fix things faster, test a bit better, crack down on cheaters better, this is the first company that I have seen that is so slow to fix things that adversely affect the player base. When problems are reported on the PTS, they should be fixed before they make it to live even if that means a delay in the dlc or update, I been around online game for a very long time I also understand that even a well tested and polished patch can find new problems when it hits live. I guess it is what it is.

I don't have these problems. Usually I only lag due to my internet being stupid or if a LOT is going on on-screen (frame rate lag). Loading screen issues from DB are gone at this point also, unless you use Bolt Escape in an unloaded area lol

If any console has it rough, it would be Xbox.

Which is why more people should join the PTS to actually test the content and make good bug reports and make reasonable suggestions. For example in this case OP could have actually suggested to postpone the release of One Tamriel to iron things out better, instead made a scene which had much to do about nothing.

Also the rational is bit complicated: 1. ZoS earns most money with DLC releases, so to make the Fat Cats happy developers have to push deadlines. 2. Some changes are better brought with large patches, which are a hassle to do regularly. 3.Fixing something that would be changed is actually silly.
