You are telling this to a company who's leadership literally told paying customers "You don't have to be here you know." when it came to fixing other issues. They are just a greedy bunch of amateurs who only keep the game just playable enough to sell crowns and a lot of this they probably just outright do not know how to fix.

I remember reading a post by someone at Zeni saying that exact thing, they sure don't understand how business is done do they?

Player: "A lot of us players are really not very happy with how you guys have been handling things recently, in fact it really just seems like you just want our money and you don't care about the quality of your work."

Zeni Employee: "Well.. Ya know, you don't have to be here if you don't like it."

Player: ".... Ummm, If we players aren't here then who are you gonna get your money from? O_o"

    Zeni Employee: "Oh s---"

Its cos once a game or franchise reaches a certain size, they dont need to be bothered about sucking up to the players. They wil have enough spending loyal players at that time to sustain and grow. Brand name plays a big part in it.

Getting in that kind of attitude is also very dangerous for them though. For example, years ago, Runescape was a very successful game with a lot of active players, but eventually the developers made a couple big decisions without really getting the players' input on the matter. The result of that? Runescape now has a quite small fraction of the player base that it did before that, not to mention that the game just sucks now.

Because ur company isnt big enough. Once a company becomes big enough, interaction with the team by the customer is seen as a privilege. They dont need to give two *** about what the customer wants, cos no matter what decision is taken by the company, the customer will keep coming back. There is also more then enough ppl to sustain and grow, so loosing some is not a concern.

It's sad how people continue to believe what Rich said in a fluff thread as a player and not as a dev to a player trying to derail said thread in an attempt to keep it on track is relevant to Zenimax itself. So very, very sad... And no saying he is a dev and ONLY a dev 24/7 is NOT a valid argument.

Funny thing though is it really CAN apply to some people and no one would hold it against them ever :p

Agreed. People think they can spend the whole time tossing out insults and abuse at developers, often by name, as if it's all part of their "entitlement", and then they get all uppity when one calls them out on it - however lightheartedly it was meant.

You do realize that one dev who was discussing, as a player, playing the game in a thread about playing the game made that comment to a thread crapper who came in to disrupt the discussion and demand immediate fixes to the game, right?

I know it lacks TEH DRAMA of declaring that "leadership said", so people keep taking it out of context, like its been pointed out. There are things they are guilty of, and things they need to work on, but not that statement. I agree wholeheartedly with the dev in that case. He was a player who happened to be a dev talking about playing the game.

He gave actual good advice. You think anyone is making a strong statement regarding their dissatisfaction towards the 'greedy bunch' by remaining? Always vote with your wallet, economics will sort the rest.
