PC Patch v2.5.8 Freezes Launcher - HELP

Well this is a first for me. I opened up the launcher and it started patching only to freeze at 38%. Then it became a huge resource hog as I tried to bring up the task manager in order close it. After I did that I set the launcher to 'Run As Administrator' and it got to a point, but froze up again.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Every search I've done to try and fix this issue brings up launcher freezing issues, but from a year ago (nothing recent). Any help that anyone could give would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Repair the launcher. It's apparently a corrupted file which the system needs to recognize and replace.

Repair the launcher. It's apparently a corrupted file which the system needs to recognize and replace.

After I hit the gear icon and changed the settings so it wouldn't auto-update, I exited out, removed my add-ons from the add-ons folder, restarted, hit the gear icon again and did a repair.

From there I let it do the verify and it started repairing (it did a quick download and then started verifying again). From there it got to roughly 6% and freezes saying that there is 6900.90 MB remaining.

I closed it and tried it again - and it did the exact same thing.

Not sure where to go from here, much less why this is happening all of a sudden. Never had an issue that couldn't be fixed before this patch. I'm running as 'admin' and Norton has never been an issue when launching. As I type this, it's still frozen. Not sure what to do at this point.

Sadly, the road to recovery was a total mess. It took Customer Service over four days to answer my question (missed the anniversary event and a holiday weekend playing) and every 'suggestion' they had only made things worse.

I finally just uninstalled and reinstalled - worked like a charm (thankfully!).

Has anyone out there with a subscription had a similar experience with Customer Service? I'm thinking maybe it was just one of those bad stretches of luck and nothing else, but basically being out for two weeks of play without anything other than a survey sent by ESO Customer Service to let them know how they did made me raise a hairy eyeball.

Oh well... least it's up and running again (till the next patch corrupts my launcher - Knock on wood!).
