Unused Stuff

There are a couple items that, according to the tooltip, aren't used anymore, like Old Caramal, Old Shank and Old Suet.

I'm a goddamit hoarder so when I found then several months ago, I kept it. I could really use these 3 slots in the bank, but I also can't just destroy them so, why don't remove them from the game?

Because they are giving you the opportunity to sell them.

Those are from when they completely revamped provisioning - some ingredients were no longer used and were transformed to "old". They didn't just remove them from the game because they didn't want to penalize people who had stacks of them, so instead they gave them an increased vendor value so that anyone who had them in their inventories could sell them and then buy replacement ingredients. Of course, for a while there was a bug where they continued to (rarely) drop. I haven't received one in quite a long time, so I don't think it happens anymore, but you can just vendor the ones you've got.

There is a place in Shadowfen where you can still get these (or you could a couple of months ago).

Down in the SE corner of the zone is a quest hub. During one of the stages of one of the quests, you look through trash piles for a quest object. Those trash piles dropped Old Provisioning Ingredients. The trash piles are only active during the collection stage of the quest. They may have fixed this since, but it has been more than a year later and they were still dropping.

Also, there is a guy on the boards here who collects this kind of stuff. Antiquarian I think is his name.

Just vendor them, I thought I was bad with the hoarding thing, but these aren't useful for anything. NPC vendor, 10g each, win.

Yeah, he's on the PC EU server. I think I gave him some stuff one time from one of my EU characters (who I haven't used since shortly after launch). Or at least I checked to see if I had anything he'd want on my EU characters...
