DEVs Playing PVP

I have heard that the current developers are all on AD faction and part of the AD zerg. I was just wondering about how much credence I should give that report. Anyone have any ideas? Someone told me that the DEV's actually posted a video of them zerging down other factions on their AD toons and thought it was funny. Any truth to this that anyone knows of?

Just curious.

If they were, I'd have been banned by now.

Since the beginning, any footage of the staff playing the game, have notably been DC.

Credence largely depends on source. Who is your source?

HA thinking devs actually play the game. Funny joke.

Only one dev actually plays the game and he only does it for a few minutes during ESO live and that's just to advertise the crown store or the new must have DLC.

AD is the best faction DC is pretty good ... Then a distant third the other one.... Whatitsbucket. Speaking only for PC NA on TF. There could be a platform campaign and server where red was cool.... Ha made myself laugh... Good one!

Hale, you need to consider the difference between making an accusation and investigating a rumor. I am simply asking if the rumor is true, and if anyone has any knowledge on the subject. Two very different things.

Well, that's just it. Someone I do not know very well mentioned it. But you know how many trolls there are out there. Still, if there is truth to it, then it would explain several things. anything mentioned on any Twitch *** kinda doesn't hold much water with me. I can't discount it completely until I hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

I understand you wanting to know who, but I don't reveal who said what in order to minimize the drama.

if i remember correctly Kyle was AD during his liveshow fiasco, so its possible that devs are AD. But dont think they are really pvping, maybe wheeler from time to time

A disctintion without a difference. Forum warriors investigating... sounds counter intuitive. I am still investigating the rumor that that the devs play the game on live at all and pvp... even more curious. I would be shocked to learn that they would play on live without massive dev buffs. That way they would be super powerful hard to kill and could put out duper high deeps. Then I could certainly see where someone could think they played on AD. But after 2 years and four months of playing this game I have reached the conclusion. Even if they played on a certain faction no one will ever know.

But that is horrible!!!
I mean, what a cruel, inhuman way to treat an employee, forcing him to play ESO. Kids sewing t-shirts in Dhaka are treated better. Like, they are at least not shown on youtube for perverse amusement.

You're probably right about that for sure. That information would probably be under wraps. Honestly though, I'm not much of a forum warrior. I've dabbled a bit here and there when something peaked my curiosity like this. See my icon? Only two stars. I just don't get why some people have to be hateful on forums just because no one can see their face. Forums are usually a very toxic environment where people think abuse of other people is okay. I just didn't know where else to ask the question.

Honestly, my feeling is that Wheeler plays frequently (possibly I left that opinion wide open for a joke, but remember that the man's domain is not class/skill/item set balance or whatever). You get a sense of it when he's guesting on ESO Live, on podcasts, and in text interviews... After they deal with whatever expected questions about performance issues etc, when he gets a chance to just kinda wax about fights and mechanics, he'll speak with some affection and admiration for the sort of spontaneous events that keep PvP interesting; people taking scrolls to weird places, fighting in the barn outside Faregyl, that kinda thing. I get the feeling that he likes seeing crossed swords pop up in unexpected spots, but I also like to imagine that his main character is longtime perplexing AD zone commentator T***a, as part of an elaborate troll on the playerbase.

Usually it's playful banter and foreplay. Try not to read too much into it.

I believe Brian Wheeler at one time or another used to stream on Twitch him playing in PvP but that was some time ago.

Definitely not trying to be hateful to you or any forum poster. But you will find the gossip is so much more powerful than reality in this game. Most of the developer decisions that have impacted the game negatively (IMO) have been what the forum people asked for and wanted or think they wanted. People are looking at this game through their personal prism. They see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear. If they are a Stam user they want their class and abilities etc to be competitive or even the best. In regards to your post if the person or persons that told you about this... line of query like AD the thought of the devs being AD reinforces their bias if they think AD is the evil spawn it reinforces that too.

Your personal biases (about AD and about the devs) also influnce you... me.... us greatly. From a personal point of view I assume most devs are not that different from us and each plays on a faction of their choice or one their co workers or friends play on and many play on multiple factions. The management team of ZOS would never allow the staff to ball up and run in a group. That would probably get a lot of people fired. That said even if the post was completely true how does it or could it affect your personal game play? We would likely never know and even if we knew what could we do about it?

I am sure they all play at some point. But how much is debatable. I personally think if they played more their game would run better.

They play all factions. I remember during a meeting either Brian or Wrobel slipped up and mentioned they were in cracked wood cave at the moment. Probably leveling or grinding CP. For very obvious reasons they don't want anyone to find out who they are in-game, and I would disregard any rumors about such things honestly.

I play everyday as a DC Templar in Haderus, Trueflame and sometimes Azura. We just took back Glademist before lunch with a small crew of 6 against a valiant group of 5
