An unrelated quest deleted my costume

I'm going through the main quests on a new character to get as many skill points as possible. My character was wearing the crown dishdasha costume, which you get from a quest in the Alik'r Desert I think.

I'm in Greenshade doing the AD quests, specifically "A storm upon the shore". I get to the point where you go into the lighthouse and light the beacon, and when I get out of the tower, I realize that my character's costume, which is completely unrelated to the quest, was removed from my character. It wasn't moved to my inventory or anything, it was just deleted. I did not put on the costume for that specific quest since I was overleveled, so it didn't happen while switching any costume or gear. I didn't even open my inventory until I saw it was gone.

Can you guys please find this bug and fix it, and while you're at it, adding that costume back to my character's inventory would be nice.

Disguise != costume. They are treated very differently by the game. If you want to keep a disguise, you wear it at your own risk while adventuring, because there are many circumstances under which it could be removed from you. Most of the time, as long as you're not wearing it in the vicinity of the quest area where you got it you should be OK, but not necessarily. Of course, most disguises can be acquired again by going back to the quest area where you originally got it and looting a new one, but not all of them.

I'm fully aware of disguise mechanics, which is why I made this post in the first place. Your answer makes it obvious that you did not fully read the post. The quests were completely unrelated.

Any roaming detection mob will remove a disguise if he/she detects you, regardless of where the disguise originated.
Because, as it goes, suspicion is their occupation.

It's why I keep a few extra Kollopi essences and Shadowsilk gems tucked in character inventories.

Then why did you call it a costume (it's not)? And why did you ignore the part of my post where I explicitly said:

Wow, it's almost like I wrote that directly addressing the part of your post where you mentioned that it happened in an unrelated quest. Hmm, which one of us didn't read what they were replying to? Oh yeah, that would be you.

...uh, this might be a bad time to tell you this, but there is no Crown Dishdasha costume. There's a couple Dishdasha disguises, but there aren't any costume versions whatsoever.

You'll need to return to alikr desert and pick up another one. If you like the disguise a lot, put one in your bank and then go back and get another one.
