Proposed changes to Absorb Magic

I wanted to make this poll on a Skill Called Absorb Magic wich is a morph of Defensive Posture. The reason for this is that Absorb Magic only absorbs 1 spell projectile and it's different to every other damage shield in the game. Both in PVP and PVE it can become tedious to keep recasting Absorb Magic multiple times, specially when going against high level magic based players and or bosses in the game. My proposal is to make Absorb Magic last 6 seconds like every other damage shield in the game and absorb the full shield worth of magic damage instead of just one single spell.

    Absorb Magic should not be changed
    What you propose would make that skill extremely over powered. It is not a damage shield, and should not be compared to one. Rather, it is more of a single cost negate magic of sorts...it negates a single target spell and absorbs it healing the caster. That is not something damage shields do.

    The real value in the skill is the reduced cost of blocking and extra block mitigation. The absorb is supposed to be a situation specific cast and should be single spell proc and expensive.

    With the prevalence of HA and S&B in PvP in the current meta, especially Templars and DKs, your proposal would absolutely be over powered and ridiculous.

    If you give someone that has great sustain an ability that absorbs all damage while active, and heals the caster when hit, and can just be recast when it runs out, you're pretty much making that person invincible.

    Absorb Magic should not be changed
    I'm set with the single spell limit shield. It works well, and honestly on my primary tank it is able to fully negate a 22k+ hit. Just like defensive stance it isn't a skill designed to be spammed, its for when you need it.

    You do have a point but they can also increase the cost of this ability to compensate to make it in par with other damage shields while still retaining the passive bonuses; they can even decrease the healing done as well and make it balanced; so no in my opinion the ability can be changed so that it's not overpowered.

    The skill IS NOT a damage shield. Slot a dmg shield if you want to run one.

    And that would be a nerf in my eyes, as Refuse2GrowUp said, if you want a damage shield slot one, absorb magic is only a shield in technical terms.
