WARNING! Contains SPOILERS for the quests "Into The Vice Den" and "Hadran's Fall" (linked videos are set up to start at the relevant parts)

The quests in this game are absolutely stellar. Full of heart, hard lessons, and occasionally, happy endings. One of my all time favorites is actually a 2-parter! It is the story of Sind and Tand, two young Khajiit in love who want to open a tavern together where they can enjoy economic stability and domestic bliss. Tand will be the cook, just like his father, and Sind will crunch the numbers! What a life!! Things turn south, however, when Tand turns to gambling to try and get enough coin to give their tavern a head start.

Poor Sind, so worried about his lover. Poor Tand! Where has he gone?

Hmmm... looks like you'll have to join the gambling to find out! You eventually discover that, while Tand is a very good cook, he's incredibly bad at math. Or maybe just impulsive. Either way, he's in hot water because he wasted all of his money on gambling, even to the point of going into debt and being sold into slavery! Looks like Hadran isn't too pleased with Tand, nor is he too pleased about you asking around for him. He tries to silence you!! After all, it's bad for business if people ask too many questions or try to look out for the little guy. Obviously it's not a big deal for you, since you're The Hero, but goodness, what a hassle! Seems that Azum agrees, though.

All Azum ever wanted was to run an honest gambling caravan. Everyone knows what they're getting into and you make your coin selling entertainment. But Hadran's "side business" of slave-trading is getting out of hand. If only he'd stuck to the original business model! Now she's going to backstab him and do things her way. She tells you to gather the prisoners, kill Hadran, and make a break for it. But the backstabbing had only just begun!! While on your way out, you get assaulted by a tag team of Azum AND Hadran, a very difficult battle! At the end of the day, you are victorious, you save poor, foolish Tand, and everyone presumably lives happily ever after. Don't miss Sind's lecture to Tand at the end! It's very heartwarming and is sure to impart an important moral about the dangers of gambling and the virtue of steady but predictable work.

I have always wondered... WHY does Azum side with Hadran especially after she enlists us to help her get rid of him? It doesn't make sense and I wonder if this was some sort of developer oversight.

Definitely possible, but I feel like it was just her temporarily covering her own butt, given how you just displayed quite a lot of violent prowess.

The first time I did it, I thought Azum siding with Hadran again was an oversight, but when I did it again I think it was just that same old backstabbing. She just said what you wanted to hear, then probably went to Hadran so them both could wait for you and Tand at the exit.

I mean, even if she did want to take Hadran's job, an "honest gambling caravan"? I don't know, maybe at first it could be. I mean, even if she didn't plan to sell anyone to slavery like Hadran, surely she would have to find a way to make debtors pay. Maybe I watched too many movies, but these things can end pretty badly for the debtors, no? I don't know if I would trust her to not do what Hadran did even if she hadn't turned on us in the end.

I like that quest very much. The ending is really nice, when Sind and Tand reunite. Throughout the whole quest, I kept repeating "please don't be dead, please don't be dead". I hate when characters are looking for their loved ones and they died already :(
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Oh my gosh, RIGHT?? I was so happy he was alive, I was really not in the mood for another dead gay couple. If I wanted that I'd just go watch an average US drama show. ;)
