Louisiana players affected by the Great Flood of 2016

If you didn't know, most of Southern Louisiana went underwater at the end of last week. I just got back internet minutes ago. Most of us have had no way to log in to ESO for at least a week, and some may be looking at months before they can log back in. I had quite a lot of gear being held in messages in my mailbox that I'm pretty sure will be gone when I get logged in. Is there any way that we can get our mailboxes restored so we don't lose tons of stuff due to a natural disaster beyond our control?

And please support the people of Louisiana in this VERY trying time!

Mail with attachments stay for 30 days. The best with your recovery from the storms.

I had mail expiring soon when we lost Internet, etc. I lost about 10 mails with 6 items in each one.

Use tether from your phone to login. I've actually played a lot from my phone when my adsl was bad. Even in Pvp, ping wasn't so bad.

Edit: if it works in NA.

Normally, I would say something witty, like "Just give me your account info and I'll log in for you!"

But flooding is no joke, and is an awful thing to have to deal with.

Hopefully ZOS can do something to help out players that are prevented from logging in due to a natural disaster.

We had no cellular service for days. We couldn't even dial 911. Cellular data has been pretty much nonexistent, so there was no way to tether as I'd actually hoped to be able to do.

This is why I wasn't even able to post this until our internet was restored this afternoon.

Yeah, trust me this is a true first world problem compared to the people around here who literally lost everything in the flood. Home, cars, and all of their possessions. Many didn't have flood insurance because it had never once flooded where they live, and so it wasn't required.

Flooding is really scary, especially if mold starts showing up. Stay safe out there. :'(

Mm, I had family friends who lived on Lake Pontchartrain when Katrina hit. Seeing the pictures afterward was heartbreaking. The lines of black mold... Hope the region can recover quickly.

@Trublz, the gist is that you're using your phone's mobile data to access the internet. However, it will add up pretty quickly, and - I think - some phones/plans may not be capable of tethering.

    @Trublz

Some Cell Phones can be made into WiFi Hotspots using the Cell signal to get data from the internet, then it's Wifi antenna to broadcast the 802.11x signals so you can connect other devices to the Web. So you just set your wireless on your PC to point to the cell phone.

Note, Cell Data charges can add up, so be careful doing this for a long time.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yep. It was like that during Katrina, too. Cell phone service was a nightmare when it was sort of working, and nonexistent the majority of the time.

I see you have gotten responses to your question, I'd also like to add that if you are on a pc with no wifi you can hook up your phone with a USB cable and use tether that way also!

In times of such a tragedy, our strength grows as people, community and state leaders come together to fix, recover and restore. Prayers for you, @Pomaikai and all those affected for a fast recovery and much deserved peace thereafter.
