Sorcerer Two-handed/Dual-Wield build?

Is there any build like this available that can do decent damage and have some decent survivability? I think maybe 3 medium and rest heavy. Though it would not be a pure stam or magicka, it would be a hybrid. I think either Viper or meteor. Though meteor is 8% chance.

Two hander viper wrecking with high crit and dot bow and caltrops back bar is amazing

Dual +hundings or tbs and agility and skoria with bow dot back bar and hurricaine etc also good less burst but amazing self heal aoe dps

The trouble with hybrid builds is that they will be doing substantially less dps than a focused build... and that also has a knock on effect on the survive ability as the heals etc will also be correspondingly lower.

Can you make a hybrid build that will complete solo content? Yes (Except vMA)

Can you may a hybrid build that will perform competitively in a group environment? Haven't seen one as yet.

TBH you are far better picking either magicka or stamina and then focusing the build on one or the other, but as with most build decisions... it depends on what content it is that you want to be running???

Ok.
1. It's a pure stamina build not a hybrid.
If you use 2h and dw, you need to think melee stamina build.

2. You can achieve very good survivability through the use of critical surge. You need to be achieving regular criticals which can be done with either a high crit chance or through applying lots of chances (ie dots) or both. The heals from surge do not scale past 3k without CPs and crits.

3. Heavy armour stamina sorcerers are viable in most pve and pvp, but unless you're the tank they are suboptimal in group content compared to a medium armour build. And yes they can do maelstrom but ecpect to swap to full dps for some rounds (ie 5).

4. Get the 5pc passive for whatever type of armour you prefer. It's a waste to use 3/4 in almost all cases.

5. Stamsorcs tend to use hurricane for aoe damage and major defensive buffs, critical surge for brutality and heals, and double barred bound armaments. Then you want a 2H gap closer (DW doesn't have one), DW dots (flurry and rending slashes or morphs thereof). You could take vigour for extra heals or dark deal for a heal & resource return (1s cast) and maybe caltrops (proc surge via aoe dot). A morph of dawnbreaker for one ultimate and the healing morph of negate for the other. Naturally you could swap things around but the physical dots help proc implosion as an extra execute and dw passives have a passive execute. For pvp you could consider rune prison and in general lightweight trap is a decent option as well.

6. Sets depends on what you can get or afford. VO is good. The new monster set is good. But lots of sets can be made to work tbh.

7. CP. Get unchained. Put lots into mighty and thaum. Put some into stam cost reduction, stam recovery and dodge roll cost reduction. Decide your specific playstyle to place the rest.

If you really want to go hybrid, look a Pels or Clever Alchemist - but be aware that CP allocation will be harder and your on your own with regards to a build.. though hardened ward should be considered.

I don't know why you're considering a hybrid. A stam sorc with zero points in magicka and a full 7 piece medium armor set can still take advantage of a couple of magicka abilities easily.

I use critical surge and the magicka consuming morph of Dark Exchange, Dark Deal, instead of Dark Conversion. Why? Because I use it to get back stamina from magicka which is more useful to me than the opposite. Sure you can't spam as much as you can Conversion but the stamina replenishment component makes it a great magicka dump and the heal is not shabby on top of your almost guaranteed once per second critical surge heal with high crit chance as long as you keep your dots and Hurricane up.

What other magicka abilities were you thinking of using that are making you think hybrid?

I do pretty good with my build heavy akaviri armour dyed black and a 2h soul-shriven sword for the whole black samurai look and i put poinys into magicka and health the most(im a h-armour 2handed sorc and a vamp btw)
