It's just down to 1 or 10 gold per skill point right after a patch where they changed a lot of things with the skills, for a week or so, then it goes back to the normal price you mention.
Cheap Gold Respecs are typically for one week after a major update that changes skills. It seems that the console platforms held on to their cheap respecs longer this time around. But, you usually only get one week of cheap respecs
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.
PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"
At the cheaper price they might as well have been free, just back to normal now. You must have respecced more that one character for it to cost 15k gold.

please tell me this is a bug and the devs didnt actuallt just revert back the cost of skill resets to insane amounts right after fixing it?
its costing me almost 15k gold to respec since update11 came out
Of course ZOS did,
Sorry its not a bug...
for consoles it was cheap for a long time, like weeks..I never got used to it because I knew it would not remain..

To be honest I think it'd be nice if respecs were free and didn't need to be done at a shrine. It'd really help unstagnate the metas because people wouldn't be so afraid of changing their setup and trying something new.
Yeah I miss not being able to swap morphs and skills everytime I go from trials to vma to pvp, makes me so sad. They need to bring in option to save skill sets from a price of in game gold to unlock it.
I disagree that respecs should be free or cheap, you should have to put some thought into where you spend your points and have consequences if you want to change them. I have characters that I have never respecced on.
There are plenty of skill points out there that you can always just go and get rather than take the fast option of respeccing. And before someone says there are not enough skill points to max out every skill line, that is as it should be. You should have to prioritize what is best for your character and the role you are playing.
I agree with an option to save skill point allocations so that you can switch between setups to suit the task at hand or pick up some slack in a group. Things like switching from full dps to dps/healer or from tanking in a group dungeon to go to PVP, etc.
Even if they introduced the capability to save settings, switching between them should still have an associated cost involved rather than being free.
