Why I think promo-exclusive collectibles *COULD* be in the new Crown Crates + POLL

Please note this is just speculation, and I am just interpreting possible evidence.

First of all, lets take you back to update 2.1.0 (Imperial City) that was released a year ago in August/September 2015. A month prior to this, there was some datamining published on elderscrolls.net (LINK). If you scroll down to the 'Pets' section, you will see some images that look to be in the style of preview images that are used in the Crown Store. But the majority of those pets have only been available before as promo's, like the Bristlegut Piglet for attending events in 2014, and the Imgakin Monkey for participating in the beta. I've always been curious about this, and nothing could really explain these images, until now.

So, with the announcement of Crown Crates, could promo-exclusive collectibles also be available in these crates? Well, if you've played games that have randomised loot boxes similar to this, you usually see an image of the item you've been awarded after opening the box/crate (example: League of Legends LINK). So what I think is that these Crown Store images will be what is presented to you when you are awarded the corresponding item.

Also, in the past month, the same Rufous Mudcrab pet image datamined a year ago alongside the other collectibles on that webpage has been seen used on the TESOnline Twitter page (LINK), as well as being featured on the pet code cards distributed to attendees of 2016 conventions. Additionally, the Black Cat pet that was an exclusive promo for those who bought a Japanese edition of ESO from Amazon, has been said to eventually be available for non-Japanese players, as quoted by Gina Bruno:

Could this be a hint that the Black Cat will be featured in a Crown Crate? After all, the timing of the comment couldn't be any better.

However, whilst some players wanted the Black Cat in the Crown Store, I'm not sure if this is quite what they meant... Maybe even more concerning for some, is that the Dwarven Sphere and High Hrothgar Wraith are featured alongside the promo collectibles, even though they were apart of the Loyalty Program for subscribers.

I'd like to remind everyone again that this is interpretation/speculation after piecing together information I've found, so it is not guaranteed to be true. Likewise with the datamined images; not all are guaranteed to be used.

I've also included a poll with my findings, to see what the general consensus is surrounding if people would be happy seeing promo-exclusive collectibles in Crown Crates, or if they wouldn't like to see them there at all. So, even if you think what I've said is too far-fetched, then it would still be nice to see what people think about the idea of promo-exclusive collectibles being available on the Crown Store.

UPDATE: Gina Bruno confirms that Loyalty Awards will not be available in Crown Crates:

    I personally would much rathar have them on crown store then in the crown crate. Its much easier and cheaper that way.
    They need to give us the black cat!

    I think exclusive should stay exclusive. Totally defeats the little reward I've received for putting up with this game since beta. ZOS is going to do what ZOS is going to do and I will continue to play the game regardless of what happens.

    Right now, the OP's remarks, are as he/she said, "speculative". Hopefully ZOS will do the right thing and keep some things in this game exclusive to those who have been loyal...but that loyalty cuts both ways. If ZOS is not loyal to its customer base, why should the customer base continue to be loyal to them?

    while i appreciate that pc players HAD to sub to play before console launch, as a console player who has played since our launch & subbed for the majority of that time, (and paid my xbox live membership so i can actually play the game i sub to) i do feel a little excluded by not having access to some really cool vanities simply because i didnt play on PC before console was released!

    giving console players access to these vanities would be nice!

    Yes. I get the sphere was a loyalty reward for pc but console was delayed for 1 year. I would have been there for it and been on since day, subbed since day 1 and I am entitled to have a crack at it. As said before I'd happily buy a 12 month sub upfront for it. I just wants it.

    Well they need to give console players the chance to get them I think. Very few console players would have them and they only have them do to being pc transfers. Basically giving them as a sub reward. Three hundred days of subbing equals all the loyality rewards for console players.

    Put any kind of cosmetic you want in it, I do not care, every mmo I played, nothing is ever really "limited time offer" even those special items you got for pre-order goodies, after a year or so they show up in game, people need to move on past the special snowflake, look I have something you don't have, because at some point they will have it to, just the way it is. /shrug

    No, I would not like to see promo-exclusive collectibles available in Crown Crates.
    One thing people often forget about the First Year Loyalty Rewards is that, during that first year, "subscribers" (which means players because the game was P2P and not B2P as it is now) didn't have the perks that are now associated with a subscription: no +10% xp gains, +10% inspiration gain, etc., no free access to DLC (for over a year there was no DLC release). So, those Loyalty Rewards are pretty much all we have to show up for our subscription. Therefore, it simply makes no sense that they become available to anyone else as it will defeat the purpose of an exclusive reward.

    The black cat is actually an exception, as it doesn't make much sense to add an exclusive pet based on a regional purchase of the game, in my modest opinion. Afterall, Europeans didn't get an eclusive pet with their purchase, nor Americans, etc...
    However, the ribbon of that cat can remain exclusive :p

    I don't mind "regional exclusives" in the sense that Japanese players had the opportunity to get the pet early. As long as players from other regions have the opportunity to get the pet eventually, then I'm happy.

    That's exactly what I meant: it doesn't make sense that this kind of offer remain exclusive and unobtainable to other players, which is what Zeni also acknowledged anyway by stating they have plans to release the black cat in the future. I just wanted to show the differences between The Black Cat situation and The First Year Loyalty Rewards. From what I have read here on the forums, people tend to speak about those 2 kind of limited/exclusive items as if they were the same, when they definitely are not.

    Things change. Ask again in 2 years. Maybe this will be one of those things that they change their mind about. I would certainly make no decisions that assume they would never do this.
