Bug, players in PvP absorbing 2k HP before actual health starts decreasing when taking damage

after yesterdays patch i noticed that i and enemies were absorbing around 1-2k health points when taking damage, after this your regular hp starts going down as usual and only happens when your at full health.. UI bug or does everyone have some hidden health?
