Seeking advice on Maelstrom weapon traits (infused against sharpaned)

Hello I'm newish to Vma.
Done about 10-13 runs total with 5 leaderboard rewards.

My enquiry is weather to use bad trait dual wield weapons or just stick with my 2 handed that I use.
My stam builds use random 2h and sharpaned MSA bow (got lucky;) ).

The daggers I got (both gold):
Infused Dagger
Defending dagger

Is it worth dropping 2h and go duel wield with these traits?
I like the sound of infused on MSA weapons but not sure how effective it is over sharpened.

I also got a Gold Nirnohned 2h battle axe today from rewards, was considering putting over my normal Shapraned Maul (with WD enchant).

One last query. So I have a sharpened bow which I use buffs, endless hail etc. Today I got a gold bow with infused, is it worth using the infused over the sharpened one in pve? I heard something about when swapping bars that the sharpaned on bow bar doesn't matter.

Thanks if anyone can help me out, I know ppl normally always say sharpaned but that infused trait has me curious. Plus the weapons already gold so no wasted mats.

Note: I've been a 2h user for a long time and haven't used DW for ages, but all these clips I see the duel wield melts the enemies. Thanks for any help.

Infused makes the enchant more powerful. Meaning more weapon damage, more damage from the special enchant hence my enquiry.

Equip those daggers, they have cruel flurry enchantment so you'll gain 3k WD after flurry cast, none of other weapons (sets) can overweight vMA duals. Just replace them with BiS traits when you get them.

Depends what for. Can't really speak for pve, defending is probably bad, but for pvp defending isn't the worst trait. Sharpened is ~5k penetration and defending is ~5k resistances, so if you go up against a sharpened weapon with a defending weapon the traits cancel each other out, which could be good or bad depending on the situation. If you're a damage dealer you would probably prefer sharpened in pvp, on your front bar at least, but if all you had was defending it wouldn't be wasted.

Edit: fwiw I use 2 defending MA staves in pvp and it's not terrible. I will continue to try for a sharpened one though.

Dual wield maelstrom weapons is often more DPS than no maelstrom weapons regardless of trait, but there are most likely builds that proves otherwise in specific scenarios

The infused bow is not as good as the sharpened one, there is a test of that somewhere on the forums if you search for it.

Thanks for some of the info, these questions are mainly aimed at PVE.

Anyone know the answer to the Infused bow vs sharpaned?
I now everyone says sharpaned is BiS but I've heard when bar swapping that the sharpaned is no longer active ie for endless hail.

Maybe I will test out infused later and see which does more total damage.

Since your just using endless hail and maybe poison injection... Bow trait does not really matter, since your on the bow bar for maybe a second or two

Also vma Sharpaned bow VS infused (more weapon dmg, stronger enchant )

Note only using bow as buff bar.

For dual wield apparently the BiS is one infused and one sharpened. After all infused does buff up cruel flurry so you'd get like 3300 extra damage on your next DoT instead of just 3k.

I'm starting to think I'm really lucky with my drops. Just got a sharpened battle-axe in mail from leaderboards this morning and yesterday got a one handed axe in sharpened, and the runs before that gave me a precise Dagger. Just need an infused dagger now and that damn maelstrom lightning staff... So far my best bow is defending. Also got a precise resto last week. A few 1 hand/shield in impen/sharp and nirn/powered... Yeah i'm bragging now

@Alcast has done a video on Sharpened vs Precise vs Infused on the bow. Only the sharpened trait carries over for some strange reason. Its weird. Very weird.

I don't have any math to back me up, but I pull much more dps with my defending, precise, powered, and nirnhoned maelstrom dual wield weapons than my sharpened weapons of other sets. I can't say anything about the bow because I still don't have sharpened to test. I'll post a couple serpent parses later if you want.

Well the Infused on one dw gives you an extra 750WD on the enchant so it must be good. I haven't seen any real testing but one sharp and one infused has to be good. I'd say it's pretty good. Not many people have *** anything with a gap of 750WD+ what the extra is on the weapon perk itself, think it's 109 over 98 or something.
