I'm not particularly happy that supposedly limited time items are going to be available to gamblers, or that there will be items (cosmetic) that will ONLY be available to gamblers, but somehow, I will pull through and survive. If this was my biggest frustration in life, or even in the top 10, I'd be pretty happy.

Why are the whiners acting like its vma weapons in these boxes?! It's a gamble box with things in them like the Breton hero costume. It's not breaking the game in any way and it hurts only weak willed people who cannot stop themselves from gambling

Exactly. If this were giving out random chances of VMsA weapons or gold tempers, it would be a different story. As long as it stays purchasable utility items and cosmetic, it's not a game breaker. It becomes P2W if it gave out powerful items, but it's not.

I can't imagine I will purchase any. So this really doesn't have much effect on me. I look at the bigger picture. They need consistent cash flow/revenue in order to develop (or even fix) the future of the game. It has to come somewhere, so I really have no problem with the concept of the crown store in general or even lottery boxes specifically.

OP, I could support you if there were combat related items or gear in these boxes, but I honestly don't see much of a problem. ZoS has not said much aboot the system, but the boxes are not holding exclusive content. Just chances at things like the snow bear mount, or the tree thane costume. You know, stuff that has already come and gone.

And as @Paulington said, there is a system for getting exactly what you want after a certain number of tries. If you missed a few boxes, wait till the gem store has what you want and buy it. Easy peasy

You are not forced to buy those boxes and you will not have a gameplay disadvantage if you do not buy them.

I'm extremely dissapointed by this too, but the good things comming truly outweights this IMO.

Yeah it's cosmetic and all but:
- It's lame gambling comming to ESO, like your average asian F2P MMO or casino.
- GG supposedly "exclusive" items/mounts. Your nice mounts are not exclusive anymore, you're tied with a gambler now lol.
- GG to your expectations of old exclusives comming back. You'll have to gamble.

Lets wait and see. If they put something really great new stuff in with rare chance of drop then yes it is a good reason to stop playing the game.

If it is mostly stuff that you already could buy in the past and the extra stuff is not exiting then whatever.

ESO crossed the line ages ago.

Crown repair kit = gold saved = gold bought with real money
Respec scroll = gold saved = gold bought with real money
Mount speed purchase = advantage substituting 180 days played requirement sold for real money
Experience scroll = advantage substituting large time investment to achieve max CP sold for real money
Race change = stat advantage for rotating meta-build sold for real money

the boxes are not that big a deal, they have them in other games and the bottom line they are money makers, since this game is only sub optional they have to have different avenues for revenue, I don't plan on buying any and don't care how many people buy.
If your quitting the game over this, I think you been wanting to quite for a while, why wait you know any threats of quitting is not going to make them change their minds.
