I really do not see the point of even discussing this issue. Nobody will ever be happy with the time choice they make. They could rotate the times so each time zone gets the preferred (or not) downtime, but the revolving door of complaints will still continue. There will never be a good time for maintenance that will satisfy all time zones!

That is what PTS is for, not live.

I prefer they do their job correctly the first time, I don't see that much maintenance in any other mmos.

That's like asking an author to write his book with no errors whatsoever. Nobody's perfect. The fact that ZOS is still taking the time to fix their mistakes in ESO shows they still want to bring the best player experience.

I dont understand why dev's need to build game assets and its files when server is going down. Why not only copy and paste files and enjoy the others five hours to test ours new glitches? '-'
    //sarcasm mode off

    so any ETA? xD

Indeed I feel the maintenance is taking too long. I will be upset if I see only a fix or two in the patch notes.

I'm pretty sure they do these maintenances to improve their game. Isn't that what you want or do you prefer ZOS abandoning ESO?

I prefer they do their job correctly the first time, I don't see that much maintenance in any other mmos.

What? Most mmo I played have weekly maintenance so that the game doesn't over saturate with bug/lag and other stuff.
Between what I think, what I want to say, what I believe I say, what I say, what you want to hear, what you believe to hear, what you hear, what you want to understand, what you think you understand, what you understand…They are ten possibilities that we might have some problem communicating. But let’s try anyway…

Doesn't affect me, being at work and all but its a bit odd seeing all these knee-jerk reaction post defending weekly maintenance. Never been in an MMO where its weekly or even monthly and they have run perfectly fine. If anything, seems to speak loudly about the very core of the game, becoming this unstable after a mere week.

Yes, most MMOs have weekly maintenance, but in general it takes at worst 2-3 hours. We're over the 5 already and approaching 5 1/2 half now. Something is really off.

US servers go down at 4 AM, not 3.

Because the whole of the US is in the same timezone, right? Yeah, we have things called timezones. If you happen to be in CST then it's at 3, rather than EST's 4.

Time zones? You don't say. The company is based in the EASTERN time zone dear friend. And the post I quoted had someone saying "3 am" with no time zone.

And honestly, since when does anything revolve around CST? Oh, nothing.

Assuming maintenance has human input, it should be done at the most convenient time for those doing it. That said, ZOS. Hurry the *** up! I have a chronicle addiction to your gave for over two years now and my fix is overdue. Almost 6 hours!

Another effing post about weekly maintenance, weekly meaning every week on the same day and the same time. This is a serious shocker apparently.

It's been like 4hrs now since servers have gone down, hasn't it? A bit excessive. The least they could do is give an estimated time on when servers will be back up. I've actually not seen other maintenance neglect to give a time when things are done.

Gina Bruno actually said they were going to (try) to give us ETA on maintenance in the last ESO live,
isnt the first time tho that they dont do something they said they would do,
    getting used to it meanwhile.

Having to do a 6 hour weekly maintenance is the effing shocker!! It means the quality of the work is crap so they have do more maintenance.

I played SWTOR and WoW there is no such thing as weekly maintenance.

Actually, SWTOR has normally a weekly maintenance... It's just way shorter. (Normally on Tuesdays, they sometimes skip it if it isn't needed)

Look they do not spend the time/money to put out a good patch. They force out these dlc's that are not ready and this is what happen when you run a gaming company with bankers and attorneys. All the smart people have left.

If they didn't list a timezone chances are they're talking about their own timezone. If I were to say maintenance is every Monday from 3AM to noon it would be pretty accurate. Without actually saying a timezone, it's not wrong. Even if I were to say 1PM to 10PM it would probably be accurate, somewhere.

Seriously are they going to have a maintenance every 2 days or what? this is like the 5th maintenance since the SoTH patch. I was against those subscribers who said ZOS has to make up for the lost time, but now it actually makes sense.
Every maintenance is at least 6 hours.

    Get your *** together ZOS!!

EDIT: I'm and engineer and the evaluation of my quality of work is how often I need to do maintenance, the better the work the less maintenance is needed. Having to do this much maintenance in an mmo means the quality of the work is crap!!

Stop being such a baby. Honestly, they need to fix *** would you rather wait 3 months?

All i witness from ESO staff is incompetence.

Cant deal with the bugs, cant deal with the exploits, cant deal with the lag, cant even communicate on forums.

They CAN deal with long maintenance. Can deal with cosmetic crown store items and they can also sweep the forums clean of any bad PR.

    Nice work all round ^^

True, as many maintenance I have never experienced in other games. And that these maintenance last so long, I've never experienced. And all this does not change anything for the better, either.

You think they have a lot of down time now, guess you were not around in the early days of mmo's, when the company had a patch ready or a hot fix did not matter if it was prime time Friday night, you got a message server down in 5 minutes find a safe place to log off.

I welcome server down time, if for nothing better than a sever restart, mmo's always patch always have down time, if that is something you cannot live with then maybe online gaming is not for you, this is a live persistent world, if needs some tlc often.. :)

No amount of QQ is going to change the way things work. But I have to agree their down time is a little long for what we see as the end result, but we have no idea what else they are doing.

What do you care about what "clutters" the forum,
if such things have a negative impact on ur life and you need to have these posts closed then ur the one that has an issue not the ones legitly complaining about long maintenance times.
