Maintenance for the week of April 6:

Seriously are they going to have a maintenance every 2 days or what? this is like the 5th maintenance since the SoTH patch. I was against those subscribers who said ZOS has to make up for the lost time, but now it actually makes sense.
Every maintenance is at least 6 hours.

Get your *** together ZOS!!

EDIT: I'm and engineer and the evaluation of my quality of work is how often I need to do maintenance, the better the work the less maintenance is needed. Having to do this much maintenance in an mmo means the quality of the work is crap!!

I prefer they do their job correctly the first time, I don't see that much maintenance in any other mmos.

That's like asking an author to write his book with no errors whatsoever. Nobody's perfect. The fact that ZOS is still taking the time to fix their mistakes in ESO shows they still want to bring the best player experience.

Man, I'm going out of town tomorrow, and I really wanted to get just a bit more done in game before I left. Wouldn't be so bad, of course, if they hadn't changed maintenance from the perfect time to one that actually [snip] ]me.

I'm pretty sure they do these maintenances to improve their game. Isn't that what you want or do you prefer ZOS abandoning ESO?

You mean like last week's maintenance which took 4 hours to fix something that should have been fixed in 30 mins (mostly text), or the prime time maintenance last Tuesday during prime time?

    Or this bold statement

    Combat & Gameplay
    General

Continued to make improvements toward the issue where you were unable to invite other players to your group.
Note: You may run into an issue if you initiate a group, it appears like nothing happened. As a temporary workaround, you can relog or change zones, and the group UI will then appear.

I'm not gonna moan about the maint, it's a scheduled one anyway and I've got better things to do, but not accepting the obvious is, to put it politely, bad.

Other games care for their customers and do not abandon their game as well, they just do it in a better and more suitable way for all of their playerbase.

First of all I don't mind maintenance but...

This is the weekly maintenance, i think? They used to have it at night both for US and EU, but for some time now they been having it at the same time in the US and EU and that means we get it all morning and day here in Europe, almost every Monday!? *** this needs to be changed back to how it used to be! Taking away a day of game-play can't be profitable... Today I tried to login and I just: "Ahhh it's Monday ofc!!..."

    [Edit: Image removed for profanity]

For Akatosh's sake people. They have to do maintenance. Just like you have to defrag your computer to keep it running smooth. They have to clear caches, LUA, etc. If they only did maintenance once month, the game would be laggy and glitchy as hell. I have seen it, the times they went 3--4 weeks without maintenance. And all large MMO's have to do it. WoW was once a week and be down 8-20 hours!
Be thankful they don't have to do it twice a week anymore like they did at launch. Also, maintenance is not the same thing as "fixes", even though this is the time they use to insert fixes, but not always. So stop thinking that every maintenance is going to fix everything!
Be happy they do them regularly. If you need your ESO fix, go play PTS for 3-6 hours..

k well by now you should be aware ESO isnt those MMO's and personally we dont have the full disclosure of information on why they do weekly maintenance, maybe they dont have the tech to handle maintenance every few months. so now there doin it every week at this time. so everyone is waiting just like you.If its such a huge pain you can always stop playing and go play something else no one is stopping you

I don't know what MMOs you are referring to, but DCUO does maintenance EVERY morning for about 30-45 minutes. Plus, ESO doesn't have patch maintenance EVERY week, but typically after a major game update, they have to put fixes in and this is a PATCH maintenance for PC. I agree there have been a lot more frequent issues lately, and perhaps this is because they keep feeding bits and bits of One Tamriel behind the scenes and I think it's causing some unexpected issues.

@Blackleopardex Actually, they used to do PC-NA maintenance at 7AM EST, not 'at night' as you said, but now they moved it back so they are actually doing PC-NA maintenance starting around 3AM EST... so for most of us in the U.S. this works out a lot better than previous times.

Maintenance is needed, but there is to much maintenance, could also be doing it once every 2 weeks,
and i am still in the opinion that other games do more maintenance in a shorter period of time,
meaning that when other games do maintenance i see a much bigger difference in results of the maintenance and the servers arent down for that long as on eso.

Last week was a 'short" one for EU at least, about 3-4 hours if remember correctly,so lets hope its not gonna be a big one now also.

But i am not gonna complain about it as much as i did before since i got one day of eso+ extra via a support ticket last week <3

Going to play a bit with my Fiddlesticks, season almost ending in League and i need to get back into the game to reach Gold again,am at Silver 1 now,

It's well and good that zos has scheduled maintenance. I'm sure it's needed to keep the game playable. What's disappointing is how little actually gets fixed on routine maintenance. Also disappointing is what gets fixed and what doesn't. Graphic and sound glitches seem a lower priority than, say, broken group finder or login issues. Yet it seems maintenance mostly addresses petty issues, not the bugs most complained about in forum. Yet another disappointment is how frequently routine maintenance turns into 10-12 hour delays because things went south. That does not inspire confidence in zos' technical team. And then there are the additional down times due to unexpected failures, of which there have been a higher than usual number with the latest DLC. I'd really like to know what kind of testing and QA is done before new content is released, and if anything is being done to improve on this.

I realize, and expect, various bugs and glitches with the game. It's millions of code lines, so problems are inevitable. What really pushes my button is how little zos seems to care about interruptions that go beyond 'routine maintenance'. "Thanks for your patience" is not a satisfying corporate response. I wouldn't say no to a prorate, but I think at least we should get more information about what the issues are, and what is being done to correct them.
