This is a frustrating occurrence...
Any ground based abilities such as Wall of Elements, Liquid Lightning, Twisting Patch, etc. you place will disappear and need to be recast regardless of time left on the ability as soon as combat ends.
This is extremely frustrating when you are let's say in vMA when you want to prep the field, but end up having to recast abilities multiple times, costing resources. In fact, you can include any instance that has multiple spawns within a specific time frame, such as Trials or some vet dungeons, and even including PvP.

Could someone confirm if this is an intended mechanic or if this truly is a bug? Would be nice to know either way, however if it is intended....

Don't even get me started on the mobs that snare you and it persist even after they're dead.
