So I was in Auridon last night (PS4 NA), and in some random house in Shattered Grove I find another player on top of a dresser swinging his maul against the wall.
After completing some quests and an hour later, I come back and the player is still there, blindly attacking the wall.
Typically you'll see bots at NPC spawn points light attacking for easy XP, or scripted to walk a farming route picking up runes, mats, etc.
Forgive my ignorance, but I thought bots were a PC-only issue. Due to the macro function.
Are bots common on consoles?
With the ability to "jail break" or "unlock" consoles now a days pretty much anything you're capable of doing on a PC can be done on a console. I don't play ESO on console myself but I'm sure players are figuring out ways to do similar things on that platform as well.
As @Ruben said, he's probably just AFK and has a button held down. Used to do that on games myself instead of having to go through all of the load screens and the like again.
I still hope he's trying to kill the Wall Boss though, that's a much better story.
You can't use bots on console so that can be ruled out, the most obvious case is that he used something on his controller to stop himself from logging out. He's probably just waiting on Activity finder to work and decided to jump on his PC or something whilst waiting lol.
Saw the same thing in one of the little villages, same zone. Player was standing pushed up against a forge (not an actual station, but a prop forge) swinging away.
I sometimes fall asleep with my controller in my hand.... thumb still forcing my toons to walk into walls/trees/stuff.... -.-
True... happens to me all the time.
