Missing Sales Mail with Gold

I run MM like many, it is a very useful tool and I am grateful that we have this tool. On three occasions I have logged into the game to see the MM sales report in chat show four to seven sales and I have only 2 to 0 mail with the gold attached, change zones, log out and back in and no additional mail shows up. I have written the creator of MM to see if it was a bug on that end, he assured me that MM doesn't have anything to do with the mail.

The items that were listed were gone from my guild trader as if they had been sold.

Has anyone else seen this type of bug?

    Not a stupid question at all, I only leave the confirmation mail about Exclusive digital content in the box at any time, there are only 3. I do not use mail as inventory space.

    If you collect the mail on a character you don't have mm turned on for, the sale will still show up when a character with mm is logged in and you will not have the mail.

    True, but I do not collect mail while in Cyrodil, I run MM in everything else, including trails, rarely have had lag issues. Good thought but that is not the case in this instance.

    Most of what I have noticed missing is when i login first thing in the morning, so mail and report should both be fresh. If MM was turned off the night before I do not collect mail and load MM log out and back in. (Accounting in RL, so I like to check numbers)

    I "bought" some Frost Miriam (or however it's spelt), it took my money

    Changed locations, no mail, money still gone.

    Logged out, logged in, no mail, no money.

    It's gone from trader, it took my money, no item

    It was just one piece, 1200ish gold so I didn't submit a ticket, but it happened

    Unbelievable, ZOS's reply is because I am using MM, MM is the cause of the issue and they will not support the issue.

    *sigh* why do ppl always point the finger and say it's not my fault.

    MM only records the transactions it does not control the mail system or the trader system.

    MM will not effect the mails you receive from your sales. They are two completely unrelated systems that both happen to represent the same data. MM simply shows data from the Guild Sales History. If reading that data can somehow cause a mail to not show up there are bigger issues.

    Honestly though I suspect a simple timing issue, or a problem saving the MM data to disk. All addon data is read at login and written at log out. So MM may display a sale and you get and collect the email for it, but then your client crashes and the MM data is not recorded. When you log in again, MM doesn't remember it told you about that sale, and tells you again. there is also some rare occurrences where MM will read a sale and report and store it twice. In this case MM may over report your sales.

    As a test, I would keep a spreadsheet logging my store listings, the MM notices and the sales mails. When/If you see a listing disappear. and you don't have a mail for it, then report it to ZOS and leave MM out of the discussion. Just use MM to help notice when you need to use the standard UI to see if one of your listings did in fact get sold.

    I was listing items today & noticed that a lot of my slots were open, despite not having received any mail/money from sales,
    since im not a 'dedictaed' trader i just thought id been lazy with listing items, but this post has got me wondering if the items had in fact sold and i hadnt recieved my money & the buyer their goods!

    This sounds like a serious problem. I recommend appeasing the devs and removing the mod before performing a series of test postings with manual parallel entry in a separate spreadsheet as previously suggested. Good troubleshooting needs as simplified a scenario as possible. If you still record the same issues without the mod, then you can honestly report the bug with all details of your steps. :)

    I would not mind troubleshooting this with ZOS if they had asked, they did not ask they simply laid blame elsewhere. What gets angry with this is the fact the one thing I have absolutely HATED about this game is the poor customer service that ZOS has, sending automated emails is not customer service.

    Customer service by definition is: "the assistance and advice provided by a company to those people who buy or use its products or services." Thank you, Google.

    The first instance this occurred I did nothing, well almost nothing. After that, I started to track sales using the MM log, the second time it occurred I wrote the creator of MM to be reasonably assured nothing there, ya know funny, thing he has given 10x better support than ZOS.

    If ZOS would lay out the steps they would like me to take I would.

    As with any product/service in this day and age, it is too simple to say it is another company's service or product that is the issue and push your customers aside. I have taken the steps that the creator of MM laid out and am still doing so.

    What you know is that you are losing product with your current setup. MM is one variable over which you have control. Remove it, and test. If the problem continues, then you have solid results with which to refute ZOS's accusation of the mod being the culprit. Otoh, if the problem ceases, you will have another option to consider.

    Either way, until you separate the products and perform testing, you have only the claim of two devs that their respective software is not at fault. One of them is wrong. Prove it.
