    It's a surprisingly common phobia.

Although decidedly unscientific testing on a group of scientists (aka emailing pictures around at work) lead to a theory that a combination of looking at pictures that disturb people with the phobia and discussing it can lead to people who are not actually phobic feeling similar effects. So far none of us have had the resources (or the desire) for more controlled testing.

Unfortunately for the OP, and anyone else with this phobia it's a really hard one to avoid.

As that link shows even though the phobia is specifically about clusters of uneven tiny holes all kinds of things can set it off. (I think to some extent this is true of all phobias, for example clusters of bubbles can sometimes freak me out, but it's because they remind me of spider eyes and I'm arachnophobic.)

It would be pretty difficult to avoid all patterns, textures etc. that may set it off.

Ewww! I had no idea that's what it's called, but I have that in spades. I think it's some sort of synaesthesia, only with sight and sense cross-wired instead of colour and words. Looking at things with holes or bumps makes my skin feel itchy, or downright crawling.

I shall now be avoiding the rest of this thread in case any more horrible pictures make their way in.

Hey, OP I have trypophobia as well. :'( Looking at those things make my body itches I quicky scroll downward. I didnt have problem with such texture in game, probably because I'm running the game on low settings lol

I find some tryphophobia things gross or disturbing, but never have I looked at a some holey cheese and been like 'how about no'. I think it's a pretty common reaction though, as it just looks weird, and you never know what could come out of the holes. Plus holes in skin is just pretty nasty in general, so...meh.
