Never found the use for a house in a online game. Unless they give us a home storage for items, like a chest. Housing don't seem that much of a deal to me.

EQ2 has housing done right. Besides a home storage vault, size dependent on house tier, its a place to display your trophies from quests and dress up how you wish, even crafting furniture. Its very useful.

Yo, Runescape housing was the reason I bought membership back in the day. I am stoked to see what they do with it here.

RP reasons. To bring back the sexy lass or lad to the house to seduce. Maybe some storage. Other than that it really is a waste of time/resources. But a great design to milk the consumers with microtransactions.

There are houses in the following zones:
    Deshaan (near Mournhold)
The Rift (one near Riften, one near Nimalten)
Glenumbra (south east of the Harborage)
Reaper's March (one near Rawl'Kha, one near Dune)
    Bangkorai (near Hallin's Stand)
Malabal Tor (near Baandari Trading Post)

Add Stormhaven too. It was in Wayrest but I'm not sure exactly where :)
Feel free to add me. I'm part of the Gummy Guars PC/Mac NA server. Master crafter and working on getting 9 traits on everything

I'm excited, but also wary that anything that adds "utility" to the house, such as crafting stations will no doubt be crown store items. I mean thats just too much of a $$$ opportunity for ZOS to pass up imo.

And I could see each station costing up to 3000 crowns per station.

I mean i hope housing doesn't become a money grabbing scheme, but ahem, look at the change token prices lol.

Of course they will monetize that - it is just a question of if they make it reasonable, and many will use this feature, or if they will show greed again, and it will be something not many are using at all. And of course, if there is no real purpose for it, like you cannot use furniture and just display stuff, without the ability to actually use it, this would as well be pretty lame.

Customization and decoration packs like the workshop DLCs in Fallout 4 would be nice - all that stuff can be used, you can decorate like you want, you can put light sources at the walls or the ceiling - you can make it YOUR home - which is not like anyone else has it as well.

Player housing. The single biggest waste of resources/focus in MMO history.

Why not just enable your characters to carry a mobile device and play Pokemon in Tamriel instead?

And this is exactly why I love it. *** the lag! Let's play house instead

That'll be 700 crowns per decoration. Thank you for your purchase.

Or 5000 crowns will buy you a book of decoration blueprints you can craft yourself with hours of farming per piece.

Housing is one of my favorite things, dating back to UO. I'm eagerly awaiting it!

UO had the best housing system ever.

Archeage also did a awesome job if wasn't for the easily exploited system.

Hm, if it would be like Archeage, I would not buy a house - you could do pretty much nothing in it.

What!? You can put most any crafting station in it. Sleeping in a bed regens resources (labor). You can plant any crops, livestock, trees, and other resource generating items all around the house on any available ground. It's not instanced so you can put your trophies on a fireplace mantel or table or some display to show them off to anyone who happens into your house. If you want to keep strangers out, you close the doors and windows. You can set permissions on your crafting tables, or the entire house; Public, Guild, Family, or Private. Placing certain items inside your house gives you a related buff. I haven't played it in six months, so that's all I can think of off the top of my head.
We would hold guild meetings in someone's house. They had a piano, a decor item, and someone would usually play it and a few people would dance. You could play the piano "manually" or using player crafted music sheets.

I am kind of hoping it doesn't happen. It would be cool, but I have a feeling it would pretty much become " ESO House Hangout"

Hopefully its doesnt become like garrison in WoW....

Now guild housing I think would be pretty cool.

This is one of the reasons I'm not too excited about some of the ideas I've seen thrown around on the forums. While it would be immensely convenient to have all the crafting stations, a vendor, a banker and a wayshrine in my house, I'd hate to see what it would do to the big cities. If everyone has their own little Rawl'kha then no one will actually go to Rawl'kha anymore.
Now guild housing I think would be pretty cool.

If there is no guild housing these forums are going to explode.

The farming aspect was the only thing, I found useful with it - all other is just not good enough IMO. And close the door and windows - laughable in a game where you can just cheat yourself into the house - you do not even need a tool for it.

If it has a purpose beside showing off my way of decorating and a storage place it would be fantastic. (IE vendors crafting setups and the like) Not as excited if it only allows me to decorate the place and show off to my buds.

I remember UO housing it had several advantages. First it was a place to hide from pvp when you were in felucca. Even in trammel there were more purposes then decoration. Sure there were places to store things you could also have crafting stations in your house as well as sell things from vendors you had hired. So those houses had purpose. Here is to the hope that these houses will also be of similar use.

Seems like many people want WOW garrisons here - please don't do it!!! Do you really want empty worlds zones, when everyone is siting in his house again?
I don't find housing that appealing: ok you will gather crap and decorate your house and it will look phenomenal, but then what? The novelty will wear off very soon.
Now to me it looks like housing will be just another cash shop's milling cow or in worst scenario weak copy of WOW garrisons or just bland house with nothing to do there. BDO have a good housing system in my opinion, but it is because of its game mechanics, labor points and crafting - there is no crafting stations outside in the world.
Ok we will see , though I'm not that excited about it.

I am not sure how I feel about housing. I want to be excited, but I knew when I heard garrisons in WOW would be implemented that it would be a bad idea, and it was, even though people were excited before its release.

What can housing actually offer that will improve the MMO experience? It adds immersion and roleplaying at best and segregates people at worst.

It is an Elder Scrolls game after all . ESO would not exist if not for the success of Skyrim and Player Housing is essential for the large, maybe even majority demographic that came here from Skyrim . That's how I Understand it .

Pet battles would be interesting tbh . Although a more creative option , rather than the Pokemon clone . But I would not ask for it . Housing , on the other hand , I do want . Provided the utility is valuable . After spending a lot of time in Tam I'm tired of sleeping on the streets or bunking in farm houses that clearly don't belong to me . TIme to bring back breezehome .

Here what I found so far looking at them ingame...

So there is atleast one house in each non DLC zone...

The gates to the House are semi functional but only one way, to exit the property.

Each house will vary in size and be design base on the region

Outside the house the yards will also vary.

SE of Daggerfall's house seems the one of large houses... hopefully for Daggerfall guilds...

If you played EQ 2 at launch . housing had a purpose you set up your own shop there players coould buy from you at a discount. you stored trophies on the wall and put crafting tables up. plus you had all the holly hobby bells and whistles of designing your home. Personally id rather see guild halls that have brokers that access all the guild traders, mundus stones and crafting stations.

For those who think housing is useless:

    1) It is a mmoRPG online. Having a piece of land in the fantasy setting that can be personalized to the player's tastes and be used for ROLEPLAYING experience and guild events, is a fundamental feature of any PERSISTENT WORLD.

    2) The Elder Scrolls have a long tradition of housing in its games. It is something so big there was a whole DLC for it in Skyrim.

    3) Everyone can benefit from the experience such as having extra storage space, housing perks and many other features that enhances the gameplay.

I am super excited for personal housing. As is my guild. My guild leader and I have been saving up tons of cash in the hopes that one feature will be available with player housing, being able to visit each others houses. If they implement something similar to SWTOR where you can give other players "keys" to your home, we wanted to set one of ours up for a guild house until it is officially available. Either ways, being able to have it finally is making all kinds of happy.

really looking forward to player housing, because - immersion.

all my toons are jobbing adventurers and it makes perfect sense to have somewhere to call home in a violent world.

plus it will give me something to spend the crown coins on that they keep giving me.
