Group fail bug IS on consoles

I invite my friend, he accepts. Shows him in group, but tells me he left when we are actually still grouped. Fixes by either of us changing zones or relogging. However, I don't wanna have to do that EVERY time we group up so I figured wed try again and have him disband the group so I could invite him again. Problem is, he can't... He basically got locked in. I try him sending ME an invite, I fail to join.
This is super annoying and I hope it gets fixed next patch maintenance. I do believe it is the exact same bug that plagued PC @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom ?

•You may run into an issue if you initiate a group, it appears like nothing happened. As a temporary workaround, you can relog or change zones, and the group UI will then appear.

^this was posted in the ps4 update notes. By Gina on the day of the DLC release. ZOS has acknowleged the problem so we know they are aware of it. Hopefully this is fixed in the incremental.

It's more than initiating though apparently, and "may" means possibly, so I've basically confirmed it to be more than a possibility. Also there is no known mention of progress fixing it and apparently none has been made?
