VMA Question

Okay. Not sure if this is just good RNG or what. But my last three weapons were a sharpened axe, sharpened battle axe, and sharpened inferno staff.... Is there something going on with VMA drops? Also, has anyone noticed a difference with the mobs seeming to hit a little harder than usual since SotH update?

    Well half of the weapons I got recently are S&B so I would say it was just good RNG. Anyway I don't think the mobs hit any harder since the SotH update.

    Idk, but my last three were all charged. Seems the rng sticks around for a few runs or something. I just need a sharpened 2h and I'm done with it for awhile... miss me some pvp

    Mobs in VMA do in fact seem to hit harder. I don't know if that was done stealthily to compensate for the increased drop-rate of weapons in the final chest, but things do appear to be doing more damage to me than before.

    @Hutch679 I'll trade you all my defending daggers for one of your axes.

    I've already got a nirnhoned Dagger as well lol I think my VMA drops have been extremely lucky. I have a defending mace too.

    Man I swear they are. I was getting deaths last night that I normally never have. My second run yesterday I made sure to keep heals on me 24/7. Seemed like it wasn't a huge difference but I would guess like maybe 5% harder at most.

    I'm really glad other people feel they noticed VMA has something different about it since SoH update. In theory, due to power creep (racial passives, raised CP cap, etc) VMA should have gotten easier. But I swear it got harder. Before the update I got my runs down to about 4 deaths. Now I'm up in the 11-15 range. Something is funky and it could be, as suggested, a increase in mob damage to compensate for higher drop rate? But, right before SoH dropped, Rich Lampert on these forums said no change in difficulty was made. So I don't know what's going on.

    Ran it last night and noticed no difficulty increases or damage increases. What I did notice was horrible performance (worse than prepatch) and I took several deaths to lag or random events. Ghosts wouldn't register as being absorbed, daedroths teleported across the map, long dead adds would kill me, and one time the soul churn from upstairs did not cease when I dropped down. Things did not hit harder, but some monster abilities appeared to queue up in "MacroSlice" like fashion, which was fun. Crematorial Guard breath hit me after he had already died.

    i noticed they had a little more health, and some bosses hit harder.

    weirdly, had my best run yet cuz I focused lol.

    and respecced cp's.

    who knows.

    it is tougher though.

    Meh, it's still fairly easy to complete, I'm kind of an idiot and I can do it all in three hours, so it's fine. I'm just glad no one is whining for a nerf. And since we're on the topic of RNG, how many of you have had countless poison flowers under the shield during the scream? I swear I had 15 rounds in a row where I died to that before the flower RNG cut me a break....

    I'm right around the 1.5 HR mark for all my clears. I did notice a difference in damage though even if it was slight. Yeah the RNG with volatile poison in round 7 can be rough sometimes. My bad RNG timing is with round 5 when all the ranged mobs seem to cast on my simultaneously.....

    Errrr...... Round 7 Volatile Poison is annoying. My run last night I had a flower spawn inside my shield. So I sat under the shield spamming harness magicka the entire scream, then ran to a pool. I survived. But the boss saw no damage during that scream phase.

    Yes, I had the same experience but actually with the DB release. I used to finish it with 0-4 deaths (Magblade, no sigils) and as soon as DB hit, this number increased by 10. I'm running it on my StamSorc now, I'm 15 minutes faster with it and I'm alot tankier (no Vigor, no pots, no sigils btw, I like it being hardcore :D).

    About drops: I haven't noticed a change and it should still be RNG but they doubled the droprate for the weapons on the last chest (from 50% to 100%). I've gotten 3 Shields and my 5th froststaff since SOH released.

    I dunno. First time i did VMA after Shadow of the hist was the first time in a long time i did VMA without being a stage 4 Vamp. so i was taking less damage XD
