Text Chat Xbox

How do you activate text chat. I went into the options menu an enabled it. How do you actually use it to start chatting ?? I was just online and couldn't get it to work. I thought maybe it was down because voice chat was not working as well.

just press start+select at the same time and it should pop up.

I did and nothing popped up on my tv screen. That's why I figured it might be down since voice chat was not working as well.

Patch notes give you a little bit of information. As to activating and using the feature.

There were a couple threads around that displayed the list of commands you are able to use. Sorry I can't link them, just have a look.

I went into the settings and turned it on. Then once it was turned on, I tried to bring it up by pushing the 2 buttons it calls for at the same time. Nothing happened. Thats why I wasn't sure if text and voice chat was down. When I looked at my voice chat, it said it was unavailable and gave me a support site to go to.

I've had that voice chat issue a few times, usually restarting the game and or xbox fixes it.

Hi,

i had the same problem.

I found out that the ESO Text / Voice Chat option is directly related to your xbox accounts privacy settings.

I had the Setting "Voice and Text Communication" set to Friends only which caused the ESO Chat to stop working.

After setting it to "All" the Chat within ESO was working.

If u have text chat enabled you can use a wireless keyboard, which is nice. Just hit enter to begin typing. If you have no keyboard just hit start and then hit X.
