Crown Store HAIRSTYLES

Thetwano
Thetwano
Bought the NEW hairstyles for the 1,000 crowns, went into character editor, and nothing was added. Lost 1,000 crowns already having to edit my toon without a new hairstyle, and lost 1,000 crowns for buying the hairstyles, and getting nothing for it. Please refund my 2,000 crowns.

The hairstyle pack is on your collectibles and you can change your hair style as many time as you want after you buy the pack. You don't have to use the appearance change token to change your hair style.

And yes, they are just the hair styles that were already available. It says so on the description of the pack.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Then where is the new hairstyles they keep advertising being a part of this update 11? I spent the cash on this pack, thinking the new styles were included, because there is no other hairstyle pack in the store...

I'm very annoyed the wording of the hair styles pack should be "enables access to all pre-existing hairstyles" because I just spent 1000 crowns thinking that new hairstyles would be included in this pack. I'm obviously not interested in the pre existing ones because I already picked my favourite from those at the very start. What a waste...where are all the new hairstyles???

They didn't advertise new hairstyles as part of this update. They advertised the possibility to change your hairstyle, and the hairstyle bundle, which says on its description that it gives access to the "standard hairstyles" and that only have old hairstyles on the preview image.

New hair styles will be sold separately, like they are on the PTS's Crown Store.

I understand the frustration because we came to expect the new hairstyles to be added with this update because they were on the PTS. But the description of the hair pack is clear. Sure, you can write a ticket and ask for a refund, good luck.

On the Guide to the Style Parlour.

    "Packs & Bundles

When Update 11 is released, we'll have some special packs and bundles that you may want to consider. If you like changing up your look from time to time, we'll be offering a pack that includes all the existing hair styles (90+ in all!). This will allow you to freely change your hair style to anything available on the character creation screen as often as you like, though normal race and/or gender restrictions do apply. If you're interested in doing a complete overhaul on your character, you'll want to check out the Name and Race Change Bundle which will offer huge savings, available for 3500 crowns."

The existing hair styles. Any style available on the character creation screen.

They showcased the new hair styles, true, but they didn't say "These are coming with Update 11".

Then, on this month's Crown Store Showcase, they list under the items coming with Update 11 ONLY the hair pack, the one described to come only with the existing hair styles. It doesn't mention any other hair style. The only thing that could confuse someone on that page is that they say "If you're looking for a little something special to spice-up your favorite character's appearance, a new hair style, adornment, or marking may be just the thing!", but taking it in context and looking at what it says that will be available in the first batch of character customization items, it means "a hair style other than what your character is currently wearing".

I understand thinking that the update would release with the new hair styles on PC because the Crown Store Showcase came out after the update, so a lot of people on PC expected the hair styles that were on PTS to be released on live too. Especially because, before the Crown Store release, they didn't directly say "There won't be new hair styles with the update". But the Crown Store Showcase was already out for Console release (and of course, the PC release had happened too), so the information was out there.

And, again, it was said multiple times, in game and out of it, that the hair pack only had the ones available in the Character Creator. You bought it without reading. It happens. Good luck with a refund (I'm being sincere, I really wish you can get your refund).

Look at the bright side. You can change your hair style at any time you want, for all of your characters, forever.

Besides, some race restrictions do not apply, unlike on the character creator. Bretons, Nords, Orcs, Redguards, Altmer, Bosmer, Dunmer and Imperials can all wear the same hair styles. Only Khajiit and Argonian styles are restricted (and even so, some Khajiit styles are shared with other races too).

That's Eloa's showcase of the hairstyles on the PTS. She doesn't work for ZOS, she is a player like you and me.

Premium Hairstyles, Adornments, & Markings (Crown Store)

A bounty of new hair styles, adornments, and markings have been added to the Crown Store. If you're looking for a little something special for your favorite characters, navigate to the Appearance Crown Store category and peruse the new offerings in the Adornments, Hair Styles, and Markings sections. (Please note that some selections are gender and/or race restricted.)

Taken straight from the eso website. New hairstyles! But we got none!

Because you knew that article was about the update launch on the Public Test Server and not the Live Servers? Is that the reason? And the launch on the Public Test Server actually did have the new hair styles.

A lot of things are put on the PTS, but only reach the Live Servers long before the update was tested. On this update, for example, we tested the Halloween Event that will only come out in October. For stuff in the Crown Store, it is even more common - there is a dress that is on the PTS Crown Store since the Thieves Guild update on PTS, but didn't reach the Live Servers yet.

Really, I am the first to call ZOS out when they are clearly misleading, which was the case with the Banker and Merchant Assistants. But this time, stopping and reading before purchasing was all that was needed to avoid this mistake. But ZOS does refund Crown Store purchases if you ask them politely, so open a ticket.

But it's okay because I'm offering the context: That was copy and pasted from an article about the launch on the Public Test Server, which unlike the Live Server had the hair styles on the Crown Store.

This also doesn't have much to do with the Hair Pack, that was always advertised as being a pack containing only the standard hair styles, and the ones on the PTS article are premium hair styles. There is no base for the assumption that the Hair Pack would contain premium hair styles. And yet, there are people like you who did make that assumption. Why? Because you and the others did not read before purchasing.

This one, regarding today's launch on consoles, do not mention new hair styles anywhere.

On the link to the Style Parlor, they mention new offerings in the Adornments, Hair Styles, and Markings sections. That does not mean "new hair styles". The hair pack qualify as a new offering, and is the only hair-related collectible that is said on that article as coming with Update 11. This article also explains how it is used, so if you read the articles I don't know why you tried to use new hair styles with the appearance change token.

It clearly says on the package description that it doesn't add any new hairstyle, only existing ones, it's not ZOS fault that you have poor reading skills.

And you didn't provide the link because...?

Because its on the eso website, just go on there and see for yourself. I don't need to lie, its a direct copy/paste.

It is an article about the Public Test Server, not about the Live Server. I linked it on my previous post.
You didn't lie, but you pulled a paragraph out of context and pasted it here, which is misleading.

Its in the freaking update 11 news on the official website... what da freak are you going on about?

Again, here is the direct link.

It says plain and simple and quite CLEAR: "UPDATE 11 FEATURING SHADOWS OF THE HIST: LAUNCH DETAILS" and its under Announcements, Developments, Shadows of the Hist. Says all this is available now as of 6/28/2016, on the PTS, but will be available as well for PC and Console. So no, this isn't just for PTS, its for PS4 as well, and we don't have the hairstyles.

And you didn't provide the link because...?

Its in the freaking update 11 news on the official website... what da freak are you going on about?

Again, here is the direct link.

"Update 11, including the Shadows of the Hist DLC Game Pack and long-awaited quality-of-life features such as costume dyeing and character re-customization, is now available on the ESO PTS (Public Test Server.)"

This is what I am going on about. This article you are speaking of was talking about the launch on the Public Test Server, not on the Live Servers.

"A bounty of new hair styles" <--- wonder why I thought there was new hairstyles coming?

But the new hairstyles did come.

    To the Public Test Server.

Which is what that article is referring to.

Says nothing about a test server on the official website under this update 11 news, so ya.. thanks for this pointless conversation, this is for Zenimax now.

What do you mean it doesn't say anything about the test server? The article is ALL bout the PTS. Read it again. Look at the date. I even quoted part of it for you on another post that said it was talking about the launch on the PTS .-.

Wait... Was this all bait? Did I bite it? Fiddlesticks...

That article is from 6/28/16 and for the PTS. Clearly, you do not understand that NOT EVERYTHING THAT IS ON PTS MAKES IT TO LIVE in the same update. You are operating under the FALSE ASSUMPTION that everything that's announced for a PTS patch makes it to live - it DOES NOT. Continuing to quote an article referring to the PTS and saying that it means that it will come, exactly as announced for PTS, to the live servers, is faulty. PTS does not equal Live. If you ever want to know exactly what is coming out on the live servers, read ONLY the announcements for the live servers and ignore anything you read about the PTS.
