Respec Punishment!

This is the only MMO I have played where players are punished for Respecing. 10000 gold to respec is outrageous especially to a subscriber. Respecing should be free for subs both skill points and Champion points, for everyone else it should be cheap 500 to a 1000 for both champ and skill points. This is the only thing about this game that I feel is game breaking (other than pvp I'm not talking pvp here) to the point where I don't even want to play anymore better yet subscribe. Fix this ZOS and fix it soon or you will lose players!

    @MerkzM8 If they offer the low cost respec, it is usually for only a week or so after the updates that had the major skill changes.

    well, I don't know about your platform but on console its been 1 gold per skill point for like forever. I respeced yesterday and it was only 1 gold per skill point, so I dunno.....

    I hate this I don't know why they make it cost prohibitive to respec especualially since the don't offer an amory feature allowing you to switch on the fly.

    Unless they are pushing crown store respec scrolls which sucks even worse IMO.

    The change back to 50 gold per skill point was delayed. PC got switched back long before consoles, which got switched back today.

    I don't agree with OP, everything in game should have a value in gold, the same with respec.
    It's another reason to be an active player, earn gold on trading and use it for different things, including respec skills/attributes/cp. Still better it's a value in gold not in crowns for everyone.
    I'm glad the respec is so convenient in eso.

    the fact that they left it so cheap for so long and then changed it is *really* annoying.

    especially now that I can switch races, make a magblade instead, it''d cost me 3000 crowns AND 12k to spec her? lol no thank you, I'll wait till it 'goes on sale' i.e. they realize that race changes are absurdly op and you can get a haircut in real life for the same price as one in this game. lol.

    Race change prices most likely won't ever go on sale, only crowns and that's once in a blue moon.

    You can be upset or angry, doesn't change the fact it's still going to cost you.

    Don't like it, their ideology is then you can just make another character...

    I started playing again 40 days ago. I've reset all my skills at least 30 times since. I have to reset them every time I switch between PvE, PvP, and arena content. I also have to reset my attributes and champion points every time I switch between these activities.

    If I don't then i'm not at my best.

    This is literally the worst kind of gold sink an MMORPG can have.

    All the MMO's i've played before ESO had gold cost for respec. And they were far more expensive than ESO.

    The key word was "usually". For some reason they didn't re-up the price *on console* after the last DLC. That isn't how it "usually" is, and isn't what happened with that DLC release on PC, either (it was upped long before this this DLC).

    I have to say ESO respec is pretty nice Ive played MMOs where respecing costs real money be glad its not a crown store item like race and name change

    Apparently OP hasn't played a lot of MMOs because MOST do charge for respecing.

    Because it's a "Role-Playing Game" where you're supposed to be playing a role. It's not Barbie dolls where you can switch from being an astronaut to a [SNIP] in 5 minutes.

    On topic.... it's kind of irritating but to be honest you could earn the gold to respec in 30 minutes, not really all that much of a problem.
