If you have told some you disagreed with something they said and didn't tell them why, your probably not very bright.

But agreeing with somebody without an explanation is considered smart ? (example opposite of bright)

It is always the same. People "disagree-bombing" some other people, the second group being super worried with internet points or whatnot and complaining, drama happening, mods removing the button. With the lol button, it is because people get upset when they make a serious post and other people use the lol button. Drama ensues all the same.
In one of the forums I participated on that had a system like this, there was a way of seeing who clicked each button using a loophole in the forum's coding. The drama went on and on for weeks. Friendships were ruined. People were banned. It was beautiful.
What is strange to me is that if you are going to have the buttons, you should be able to see who ised them. If you cant it makes it pointless. Well other then the normal forum trolls entertaining themselves with them. No not me. I meant someone else, not me.

If you agree with someone, that means you share their opinion, which basically means there's nothing left to add.
If you disagree with someone, however, there are various different ways in which your opinion can vary, and explaining it actually helps building a constructive discussion.

Ok since you bolded it, how do you abuse a button that says disagree?
also keep in mind we have the exact same function on the other buttons, so they are just as easy to abuse? Yet they remain?

But the other buttons are not capable of being used to abuse ?

Take a good look around you. Trolls... Trolls everywhere...UltimaJoe777 wrote: »There has already been a thread about this, and the same things being posted here (minus the non-serious posts) were posted there too.

If you make a thread solely for the sake of farming forum points, prepare to be moderated. Beyond that no one really abuses the current buttons as they are all generally positive in nature.

You wrote stuff. Mostly the same stuff over. And answered how do you abuse a button that acts just like all the other buttons with... trolls. Good answer... If it made any sense.
And then finish by saying that the others are just as easy to abuse, but it is ok because they make us happy.
So to sum up. Disagree is not an option not because it is easy to abuse. Because they are all easy to abuse. As you say. But disagree is not an option because it makes people sad.
Now we can only choose "insightfull","agree" or "awesome",
since this is a forum i think it would be convenient and constructive to add an "disagree" option to posts and comments.

Now you're just trying to twist my words. You know damn well what I mean and know what I say is true, you just don't accept it is all.

See i dont have to twist your words at all.
You said disagree is to easy to abuse so we cant have it.
Myself and the Op pointed out all the buttons are just as easy to abuse. So why is just disagree gone.
To which you responded... Trolls which still doesnt make sense, and the other buttons are positive so no one cares if they are abused.
That last part is the important part. You said disagree cant be a thing because it is to easy to abuse. Then say all the buttons are easy to abuse, but they are positive so no one cares. You disprove your own theory.
The only reason disagree isnt here, is not because it is easy to abuse. They all are. You said it. It isnt here because it upsets people when they get disagreed. It makes them angry or sad or lots of negative things.
I guess my next question would be, you said people dont care about the others being abused because they are positive. Why is me disagreeing with someone seen as negative?
