Mag temps need a nerf.

Most annoying thing in pvp right now is fighting a mag temp in heavy armor. Dodge roll was penalized, streak was penalized and tanking was penalized.
It's about time we penalize heals too, my idea is having a 2 sec cooldown on a heal ability...or just nerf blackrose.

I don't think they do. I think magicka classes need to be re-evaluate as a whole. If you take something from Templar, something of equal value should be sacrificed by Stam types. Templars wouldn't be wearing heavy if light armor provided enough protection or damage to be interesting.

Vigor is a very strong heal. Should that heal be penalized, because magplars don't use that?

No, it's not a "l2p issue". I just seen a temp with blackrose take on 4 skilled players.

Sharpened is the go-to trait for doing damage in PvP.

It has a flat value, and hurts Light armor users much more than Medium/Heavy armor users.

What you are noticing is that for Magicka classes, Light armor gives the better damage while Heavy armor provides the true tankiness. On Stamina specs, Medium armor is enough to get both great damage and tankiness, but you can still pick Heavy armor to be a real tank. (just another reason why Stamina is much better and the meta this patch).

Magicka Templars are plain imbalanced altogether. Too strong. It is why you see them everywhere. Heavy armor+Magicka Templar has been referred to as the cancer of PvP lately as well because of how tanky they can get.

Not sure why but I have doubts they will get nerfed at all, and if they do it will not solve anything and serve to hurt PvE for no reason.... more fun to not think about balancing atm.

Still it is at least better than it was prior to Dark Brotherhood!

This thread may be biased by the fact that the AD emperor on TF is a highly skilled player and advanced theorycrafter with a robust friends list of elite players.

Maybe Blazing Shield is a little too strong, but it sounds like people are having trouble dealing with a strong emp with a good build. And so you should play the map instead of bitching.

I have to agree while I hate to see any class get nerfed Templars have the best of all worlds: best heals, great sustained DPS, and can tank 3+ 501 players and not die thats all I'm going to say.

I agree that with certain sets Templars are over performing in a few areas of PvP . Reactive , Malubeth , Black Rose all still really strong with Templar . An I know some people with other classes are tired of their sets getting nerfed over an over . Maybe it will be that time again soon where Templar gets hit with whiffle bat .

Most of magic templar's melee attacks are aoe or archs which there are two sets that can reduce the damage of those types of attacks. Most of their ranged attacks are magic projectiles which can be affected by absorb magic and/or reflects. Also with the update there are accessories and weapons for one set that applies major defile to targets while attacking them in melee range. This set practically has 100% up time.

Why all this is important is because many magic templars rely heavily on puncturing sweeps synergies for both damage and healing. Once the damage is cut low enough their healing is less problematic. Which then in comes major defile which makes matters worse for them. With both healing and damage cut and no real mobility they will just jab jab jab hopelessly until they die.

I personally do not wear these item sets because it makes my damage too low, but it is certain sets which are the problem, not templars themselves. I do understand why some templars wear them though... Stamina is ridiculous right now, and so I suppose many templars see this as a way to survive against stupid amounts of damage from stamina classes.

They can nerf Mag temp heals when they nerf every other heal in the game with it. That includes vigor and rally.

Son I been tanking 10+ guys in Kags heavy as a healer since fricken IC dropped. Where the hell you been. (seriously, Zazeer and GoS were still playing when I made the same suit I use today, almost a year ago). I remember sitting for four hours one night back in late 2015 with Sinister from GoS (now in Invictus) theory crafting the build, the day i forsook light armor on templar forever. That same suit sat on my AD templar for nearly six months until I was finally able to buy a character slot and make an EP templar like id always wanted.

This isnt a Malubeth or Black Rose thing, this has been the templar power build since forever, its only recently become mainstream because some people made some videos of it and the metachasers saw how strong constitution is, heavy has been strong as hell for a lot longer than that. Its one of the main reasons I was against buffing it further. In fact, I remember saying that the loss of block cost in heavy NEEDED to happen without buffing anything else because it was already OP.

This is the reason a lot of you on the forums and your little fanboy cliqs bother me so much, you dont even know whats good in the game until one of them runs a video of it. You have any idea how many heavy armor templars have been running since long before any of this changed?

Honestly Malubeth and Blackrose seem to be the main source of the issue. Since 1.6 Templars have been able to achieve crazy heals and sustain while still being in heavy armour and perma blocking as long as theres stuff to repent.... I never really saw that as a problem, but those two sets kind of push it over the top in most situations. Yet this is no different from how Malubeth and Blackrose on a stam DK or a Stamina templar can push it over the top...

Please don't nerf templars... just stop adding/buffing/changing other sets in order to make up for your sh** class balance updates.

I was dueling a templar today, he had major defile on, he had no mending on.

He healed for 14k in 1 BoL.

Like really?

Healing needs to be looked at, not on all builds but on some. Magplar being one of them.
