Alliance War Lession #98A - Do Not Stack Your Faction Into An Outpost

Our example comes from Trueflame NA - PC.

So, you may think that the defensive tick for an outpost can be hugely profitable to you and yours. Well, there's one problem when everyone decides to get involved, and that's that everyone is now involved instead of performing their normal functions -- fighting, defending, scouting, etc.

So, on Friday, the entire faction of AD (with some exceptions, of course) was holed up in Nikel, defending against DC in hopes of a sweet, juicy D tick.

What happened next is the stuff of bloopers reels.

Once every keep and scroll of AD's had been taken and removed, with them still in Nikel. In the end they didn't even hold that, and were forced to grind north from their gates, keep by keep.

Remember, folks. Outposts are meant to be expendable. Stop treating them like they're the last keep for Emperor or for scrolls. If you don't, then you will lose things far more valuable.

It was highly entertaining to not only be involved in a epic battle, but watching the rest of the map evolve into blue and red, a development only marginally more gratifying than the tick.
Reminded me a lot of our faction (DC) and the single minded focus on taking Chal.

I must of left before this . There's some disorganized people in AD an these make it more difficult for organized groups to hold ground . But they are the nicest players I've ever met so I can never be angry lol .

i enjoyed the scroll shenanigans much more, ep didnt want the defensive garbage so ran it to glade, my grp took it and ran it to chal trying to give it back laughs were had by all

If anything I think that says something about the terrible state of the elder scrolls in a game titled "Elder Scrolls Online". Who would name a game that and then make them so useless that factions actively don't want them.

Real AD™ don't care about the campaign score or winning. Most of us just want to have fun and farm AP all day long.

There weren't actually that many people at Nikel (maybe 30-35 AD) but it took DC's 100+ over two hours to finally take it lol. I wasn't there for very long because of the lag but I know the people who stayed made like 100-200k AP. Unfortunately Pact Militia decided to literally send three raids to BM, Fare and Alessia at the same time. Was still fun though.

I have less of an issue with the AD who defended Nikel and more of an issue with the 30+ EP spawncamping after the scroll was gone.

Nearly the same thing happened on Azuras NA PC yesterday, this time involving blue. They turtled their entire faction into Alessia, and not a soul defended Chalman, Aleswell, Ash, Nikel, Bleakers, Glade, or Dragon.

Wasnt til I asked Sub if he was ever gonna defend his emp before I saw anything more than 1 or 2 DC anywhere. Alessia fell, I was leading a siege on Roebeck.... and... oh my god.... its like every known blue player that still plays this game came out of there.

Between Alessia to Bloodmayne, the most AD I saw were about 10-15 at the scroll temple of Mnem.

Credit to RAGE, they fought in every single keep and tried to do their best to stop it. Hats off to them for doing the right thing.

They were utterly zerged, though.

I'm quite confident those numbers are inflated, but the ~15 EP who were at the gate of altadoon were mostly helping me and others get their baby toons to the skyshard since there were a number of AD camping it,

when i showed up at nickel with my grp when it first started you had 2 organized dc grps plus a raid of pugs, i then left when we found basically all of the AD alliance turtling inside. We came back an hour later after taking all we could from ad and found maybe 40 dc left and about the same amount of AD inside. All of Ad territory didnt go red and blue over some sitting inside nickel it was damn near everyone, atleast for the first hour

This on is not fond of being a loser. They're okay with not being good but they do draw the line at failing on purpose.
