ZOS - Harvesting exploit/bug needs to be fixed

    It doesn't really matter what's left behind, either you get a partial node or the node is gone because another player took the whole thing. Regardless your moving on to the next node until the previous one re spawns. The node system is fine learn to deal with it.

    PS4 NA Endgame tank/healer/runner/mag dps. Trials are why I play! I miss when Vdung were tough and fun.

    The resource nodes despawn automatically in a few minutes if stuff is left in them. It has been this way since launch.

    Even if you take nothing, it will despawn after a few minutes.

    OP: despawn/respawn you want it to go away/come back (same thing) faster after someone has looted the node partially...

    @Runs mentioned a 10 minute timer.

    If the partially looted item despawned, it would then have to respawn (which already does/probably just respawns...) either way you want said item back faster.

    Unless they went in and specifically wrote code to differentiate between a partially looted node and a fully looted node and set up different timers, you're gonna have to up the overall respawn rate... yes?

    No need to keep trying to start a fight

    Edit: also what would keep people from purposely only partially looting to keep the higher node spawn rate?

    You're right. I'll probably find a node with only crawlers. That would be the worst. I may never get over it. Might have to uninstall.

    Easier fix IMO would be that whatever you left there gets destroyed. As if you would have taken it and destroyed from your inv.

    Con of that would be that you wouldn't be able to share stuff in chests with other people anymore.

    Seeing as ZOS adds more and more stuff into the nodes, like style materials (cassiterite sand, pearl sand grain & rogue's soot) as well as the revamped enchanting nodes, this issue also becomes more pertinent. In the past it was only an issue with the alchemy plants and baits, now it's also an issue with enchanting nodes, regular material nodes and thief troves (until they fixed that, which is proof that they do fix it when enough people complain).

    Actually I wouldn't mind finding this. I hardly ever seem to find Casserite sand and I have TON of ruby ash (plus few crafters who can even find it so for me it's usually maple or oak anyway).

    They fixed the thief troves?

    Someone mentioned they have a fast respawn/despawn timer, and it's been a long while since I saw one with leftover lockpicks in it, so I'm assuming yes?

    The other day I was excited to find a Thieves Trove, nobody else around, and what do I find... a single Lockpick. So yeah, I can confirm they don't seem to despawn or at least have a lengthy despawn timer.

    Because fixing players like these is a very lengthy process tracking down years of being spoiled by mommy and daddy and getting through life without punishment for their actions.

    In some cases you would have to troubleshoot lengthy strings of DNA nucleotides to find the bug.

    This issue is neither an exploit, nor a bug. It is working EXACTLY as intended - just like a chest or container.

    The issue is with *** not clearing the node, which is not a ZoS problem

    I believe most players who do it, don't know what happens. Someone making laps would want the node to be clear for fresh respawns.

    Nah, people just leave the trash since they don't have the inventory for it :smile: the people farming it will clear it, since farmers know that the node will respawn only when emptied

    Uh. Because they have the crafting material in their inventory already, but not the bait. The crafting material stacks. The bait has nowhere to go.
