If there is an issue with not being in the same phase as a buddy will we now be able to use "travel to friend" in Cyrodiil?
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

That would be counter-productive to allow that.

Nah, it isn't - you can chat with people in zone chat, who are in silver or gold or normal, and you can as well chat with those, which are not in your phase. So in zone chat you get the illusion, that all are in the same instance, even they aren't.

Wait. We can already zone chat across alliances?

I see pretty often lfg silver .... and lfg gold ... and I am just a low level. In Stormhaven that is - there it is the most recognizable to me.

And aren't there already cross-faction groups possible in PvE?-

Ahh. That is for Undaunted Silver and Gold. Same Alliance.

Why would you need this? None of the changes affect Cyrodil.

That would indicate the chat is NOT cross alliance... That's just people from your alliance (DC) looking for a group in their capital...

If you would see this as a DC player in Deshaan (your gold zone) then it would indicate you would see EP players looking for a group in their capital (where the undaunted quest givers are located)

The game already works this way, it just intelligently places you in the same instance as players you're associated with, and doesn't advertise it. So in theory there will be no differenxe.

Okay, let's say you wanna join your friend in the map that already is full. No differense you say?

Outside of the starting zones for each faction I almost never see another player. I can't imagine there being a ton of issues with over crowding. A couple of the popular banking/guild trader towns might be crowded

There are others outside of starter zones as well, but most are just passing through when you are in the middle of nowhere. I like it this way, it would be awful if wilderness would be crowded, it would take away from the experience of exploration, if anyone just runs through and picks things up and kills all the mob. Better less than too many people in the area.

Well the game currently works this way. Everytime i have traveled to someone in a different channel of the zone i am in, it has let me.

So yes I would imagine there will be no difference.

I do not think the zone cap is a hard cap. More a number that is used before the server opens a new channel. But not one that says no matter what no one else can come in this channel.

    Think of it this way..

Do you ever have any trouble joining your friend in the area they're in today? No, and that won't change.

There is no hard cap. The game dynamically creates additional copies (instances) of a zone based on number of players there, and will always make sure you're in the same one as friends. The "maximum" is just the number at which a new instance is created.

Currently those instances are divided into three types (EP DC and AD). With One Tamriel there will just be one type of instance shared by all alliances, but the total number of instances will be the same.

This means that for already populated areas like Mournhold, you will see no difference in population. But for less populated areas we will see an increase because players of opposing factions who happen to be there will now be visible to you (for example if you're EP you'll be able to see all the AD newbies in Auridon).

Of course this is all based on my own understanding and experience of how the game works. There's a lot of technical magic going on behind the scenes to make if work that I cannot explain. Point is... No need to worry about queues or being unable to play with your friends. ESO was designed to avoid those issues and they won't change that.
