Rude Beggars

I've been playing with a friend and have recently started a new character...my friend - who is a werewolf - tells me he will bite me to make our team stronger/we can both be wolves/pack-life!

We're playing as a duo constantly on these characters.

However, as soon as we got to the shrine, this rude player immediately offered 20k with no explanation and was declined.
He then proceeded to /spit repeatedly on my character and then tried to jump in front of my bite.

When he didn't succeed - he kept spitting on my character and repeatedly tried to trade with my friend even after the bite.

Anyway, has this happened to anyone else?
(I assume it has as I had originally replied to an old thread on the topic but I was advised that was deleted and to start a new topic.)

    Which server/platform are you?

I give out my bites for free on EU/PC but have never encountered werewolf bite beggars. Although i have encountered at least two people begging for gold to buy a mount.

Perhaps, to prevent people trying to jump the bite/ constantly standing in between you and your werewolf friend, there could be a tab that pops up?
"You are about to pass on Hircine's Gift to [Player Name] - do you still think them worthy?" or some such...so that if they've clicked or been jumped by the wrong player, they can...ooooh! Idea! If they are jumped can they instead RIP OUT THE THROAT of the other player? Instantly killing them and sending them to a wayshrine?

Probably not, as I can see where that could lead to people getting conned out of money paying for a bite and then being rudely killed!

EU/PS4, DF. It was my first time at the shrine, so I don't know if this kind of thing happens a lot.

I perhaps shouldn't have called him a beggar, as he offered gold to my friend, but it was essentially "I have money! Bite me! Not her! *Spit on her* No really, take this money! *Spit on her again* I'll stand in between you until you bite me instead!"

    Ugh.

"Oh, you still bit her? *Spit* Look, even more money! Bite me NOW (because I don't know about the cool down) *Spit* She's not worthy to be a wolf! *Spit*"

Well, if he was role-playing (as an extremely rude person) then his role-playing was sub-par...

A person would not have that much saliva available...if he had /spit spit spit spit and then taken a /out of breath and then a big swill of drink to replenish and then /spit again...THEN I would have praised his role-playing skills!

    But, alas, no.
I am a role-player, and shall not have that charlatan giving us a bad name! XD

I'd probably take his 20k, then leave without biting. Your friend can always bite you some other time.

Abhorrent behavior for sure, but to be clear offering 20k isn't really "begging"!!

Yes, but the begging for gold to buy a mount, is not for buying a mount, that is a well known scam to get 10k from people.

Reminds me of the "honest" scam in EVE - "I am too lazy to make something up to get 50 million isk from you. I guess you appreciate my honesty and that I do not steal your time, so could you please give me those 50 million now, that we can both go on with our life" - this actually worked for quite some time.

This. After the first spit, I would have taken the 20k and left.

Thats too bad. Ive since cured my lycanthropy so I can eventually join my brethren in the great mead hall in the sky.

Last time I was at the shrine though, it was great. I was a dancing wolf on the alter while some random played "hungry like the wolf" by duran duran in area chat.

At the shrine your ww timer stops, go eat a squirrel to top it off instead of taking four bites of a mammoth and letting the rest rot. Also, dance.

You shouldve taken the money and told him to meet you there next week for his bite. Do not specify a time lol.

The whole "someone give me some gold so I can buy a mount" thing is probably the oldest trick in the book. That's what they do all day, and that's how they make their money. I've seen it in multiple mmo's.

Surely if we are allowed only one clemency per day, they could code in a limit of one spit/ day as well.. just sayin

The beggar offered you 20k? How does that work? Who is the beggar. Confused.

The "beggar" was basically begging my friend to take his money and bite HIM instead of me.

"Please! I have money! Bite me! Not her! PLEEEEEEEAAASE!"

    That's...evil. The frustration is real!
I only realised late last night why devour didn't seem to be working - you have to wait for the complete animation to finish and load the extra time before moving in any way! Took a few too many transformations for me to finally work it out.

In other news, I have levelled my wolf to level 10, and already have the perk to bite someone...might go back and see if Rudey-Mc-Ruderson is still there...

It's been awhile since anyone was so aggressive about a bite, but in the past, having a person jumping around in front of you was common. There are so many people giving away bites, and the spawn location are well known and no one is killing them, anyone who wants a bite can get a free one with minimal effort.
