Basically yes, skip it and do it later when One Tamriel will be live and you will be battle-level-scaled like in a DLC area - then you can do the quests which are now too easy for you. Later those enemies will all be lvl 50 CP160 and you are scaled up to about CP150. If you have access to a DLC, go there and try it out, that is about how it will be everywhere in future.
If you are 8 levels ahead you won't get XP from killing enemies anymore, which are more than 5 levels below your level.
Ah, I should mention one problem - in such a battle-leveled zone you have no hint how strong an enemy is, they all show lvl 50 CP160, but there is a difference in their strength, so you will have to find out yourself, what is a strong enemy and what is a rather harmless one.
.. after creating my first character: I CLEARED, the first 2 maps. Every skyshard, every single quest in both, newbie map and in Glenumbra.
Now i'm 8 levels ahead of the third map. And doing any quest feels too damn easy, and a waste of time. Now every item i get, either as drop, or reward, its useless to me.
I'm sad, because i loved getting immersed in every quest.
But now i hardly want to play. I barely login and do something.
I see a WHOLE map waiting for me, but it just all crappy lowlvled things..
Whats the point of doing EPIC quests EFORTLESS with MEANINGLESS rewards :'(
Should i just SKIP THE WHOLE map?
Oh man..
Facepalm!
Ok. This is just my luck. I should of bought the game "two months from now".
I'll manage / do something untill this "one tamriel" comes out. I guess.
Where is this info btw?

And 1 question on this: i'm guessing you mean this scaling will take place IF i outlvl a zone? or anyhow, anywhere, everywhere, and allways? From lvl1 forward, everything will be scaled? I'm kinda confused. What an odd way to fix things

Well in a few months everything everywhere will scale you to the content so you can always come back to it then.

Wait, what? I thought One Tamriel was in this month's update?
Can anyone confirm/deny the release date of One Tamriel for dear ol' @FortheloveofKrist ?
I've been over-levelled for the quests I'm doing on all my characters since shortly after I created them. (Except for my new one, who went straight into the Thieves Guild content and so is permanently under level.)
I don't worry about it. I'm doing the quests because I'm interested in the stories involved and because I'm a completionist. The XP and even the items I get are mainly just a way of enabling me to move onto new areas and do more quests, so it doesn't matter if I don't get much as long as it's not blocking my progress.

I would recommend doing only a zone's main quests (even if you are overleveled) for your current zone and maybe one or two of the next zones. That should give you something to do and allow the game to catch up with you. Then, when One Tamriel comes out, go back and do the miscellaneous side quests to get the experience (XP and experiencing the story).
Lol, thats funny how some people tell you to do the DLC content like if it comes with the game package..
Its also funny how some act like if everyone got a PC as good as his own..
I was lucky enough to be able to buy the game itself. And i would like to enjoy it properly.. As it happens, right now, its not quite possible to do that. Since every "proper" alternative all of you gave me, are no more than that: alternatives. And hey guess what too: "alternatives" give an insane amount of xp when you're new and low lvl like me. Its like the devs didn't want players to do quests!
But quests are quests. They have one kind of a "lvl cap". And they are EPIC. Doing them is interesting, i like to get involved in this stories. But tbh, if the red bandits or werewolves or whoever conquer a whole city and I run thru it withouth even getting hit, where's the point of that? Its just silly. Thats like 3hours of story gone to trash.
Some of you may overlook this and enjoy things whatsoever. But QUESTS are actually the main "thing" of every RPG game there is anywhere.
Anyway as others more accurately answered. Tamriel One will "fix this". So one must wait and hope for the best for now.
Meanwhile i'll enjoy exploring and dungeoning. And doing ONLY the few quests that do scale to my lvl.
This aint a solution. Is an alternative to continue to play -.-
Peace.

Yes you can chase the main Three Banners War quest stuff & move yourself along!Should i just SKIP THE WHOLE map?
8 levels over? I'm pretty sure I've done the same thing the first time through and did everything on the map but wasn't that over level. I'm assuming you're an ESO+ member or using some sort of XP enhancement...either that or you ran through the same delves/dolmens/etc. more then once.
